  1. The Sabres have been in the media all season. Murray and Black have been discussing the future since last summer. It's been an exhausting season for everyone on both sides, so let it rest. Are you going to argue that when half the fan base (or more) ends up openly rooting for the tank, at games, and the remainder either sit on their hands or quietly agree (or disagree), Sabres fans don't know what the plans are? When Nolan is fired, and there's pretty much zero protest over it, are you going to say the fans aren't in on what's happening? I would argue that the Sabres fan base is probably more informed and knowledgable about their team than most teams' fan bases. And the Sabres know that. Why put themselves in a position to be pissed on by a handful of curmudgeons who, the Sabres realize, clearly don't reflect the majority of fans. That would be stupid, and, likewise, you'd be calling them stupid for doing it.
  2. Maybe they'll get it together by the time we move down there.
  3. That's the question. Both are called "Generational Talents". How much of a gap can there be between "Generational Talents"? Is it larger than the gap between those two and an average number one pick? I mean, we're talking ridiculous levels of skill, here, and I think it might be better to look at the attributes of either and determine which one fits better with your team. In a sane world, DeLuca's point would be far more complex. But, as it stands, it seems most people have synchronized with the "McDavid is the bestest pick and you would be stoooopid not to take him first" narrative. For which, I am somewhat glad. McDavid might be one or two generational notches above plain ol' generational Eichel, but Eichel's game COULD mesh with the Sabres better faster. That would be true for a lot of teams going the bigger, tougher route, which, as Deluca has said, is what Chiarelli is all about.
  4. Nashville played a good series. If they were matched up with any other team, they'd move on to the second round. But, between the talent and experience in Chicago, they're still a real contender.
  5. This Chicago game has grown frustrating.
  6. The Blues and Wild have been trading off blowing games in this series. It's likely to go all seven.
  7. Not sure who I favor in this St. Louis series but it's pretty good hockey.
  8. They never have a problem finding good goalies. But, that's not what this thread is about, why don't I post it in the goalie thread? Because I read about it on THAT site, and it was an E1, so it must be true.
  9. Looks to me like the Canucks are in Alamo mode.
  10. Good for Nashville. That was a whacky ending to that game.
  11. Jeepers, a two goal deficit.
  12. The PBP guy for this game always sounds surprised when icing is waived.
  13. What a sequence in Nashville. This is going to be a battle.
  14. Messiah for hire. At night, I do Digital Creative, working for myself.
  15. Oh, Jets, we hardly knew ye.
  16. Oh no.
  17. Chicago's playoff experience has been invaluable to them as the game has worn on. Absolutely no panic in the Hawk's game.
  18. Periods 1 & 2 were better, I think, in terms of skill and attack from both teams. Nashville having the edge in the first. Darling kept Chicago in this game, but now I would say it's a true draw. Hence we're in double OT.
  19. OMG, so much time invested in this game and it's so good...must watch...
  20. Seth Jones could have been the hero!
  21. Wow, great hockey. I hope we have many years of this stuff coming our way soon. This series needs to go seven. Two skill teams anchored by hot goalies. Darling and Rinne staring each other down.
  22. Add me to the list; I'm loving this series. It's clean, hard played, skill hockey. Embellishment? Dumb call.
  23. I like the new Superman. The first movie seemed under rated, from what I gathered. I didn't see it until it was on HBO's free preview weekend. It surprised me how much I liked it. I like the darker Batman of late, but haven't been too fond of Christian Bale as Wayne/Batman. I still think the Batman IP could be much better. That said, I am not into the idea of Batman going all bad guy. I may have browsed through the comics of this, but I have no idea what the essential premise is. But the trailer made it seem like Batman loses his mind and, being a Batman fan, I would never consider this believable (right, I know, comic books, fantasy, peyote). It could be a surprise, though. Contrast this to the new Star Wars and the trailers so far...it looks like exactly what that IP needs. Darken it up, get rid of kitsch. The X-wing and Tie Fighter glimpses just do it for me.
  24. They have to be, they have Flynn and Mitchell.
  25. If you, at all, gave Murray the same benefit of the doubt here, then perhaps. But, since you dint, and havnt, then...no. Beat me to it. Durn it.
