  1. What kind of history is he talking about? Ignoring historical stats is the opposite of wise.
  2. He doesn't remind me of Marv.
  3. I think Gilmour had a good game. Tage is making me stand by the last assessment I posted about him - he has earned a look for the first few regular season games, at least. Ullmark has taken the starter position, by maybe two hairs. The PP was dreadful. Great to see Z and Angry Larry back together. Not sure what to think of Vesey, yet. Lazar was invisible until the end. Mitts. Jokiharju needs time in Rochester, at least. Glad to see you've come around on Tage. Again, not a fan, but when a guy puts in the work and it shows, he needs to be rewarded.
  4. Sounds like a Beatles' concert.
  5. Tage the new money in the SO?
  6. Yeah, what was a sure blowout turned into a fun game.
  7. Nevermind, there he is.
  8. I don't think I've seen Dahlin since the beginning of the third.
  9. Call me pleasantly surprised the game is tied with a few left. That 5 on 3 was awful, though.
  10. While I'm thinking about it, I want RK to ban all no-look passes unless the player actually knows there is a teammate there to accept the pass. Such a ban could help Mitts.
  11. I was enjoying Gilmour's game before that goal. Ullmark should have stopped it, but Gilmour was just moving his stick instead of taking the man.
  12. Floodgates open? Leaky Ullmark?
  13. Took half the game for Pittsburgh to score. Better than I expected.
  14. Tage drawing a penalty made me laugh. That was classic Tage goofiness, not a legit penalty. Anyway, the Penguins broadcast is about the worst I have encountered, and that is definitely saying a lot.
  15. See! We can collectively be positive about something! Whoops! Wrong GIF.
  16. None of those guys were "developed" in the sense that I'm sure Mr. Flagg is meaning.
  17. While he makes the future look bright, we really need to wait and see.
  18. So, scanning through this: https://www.buffalobills.com/stadium/gate-entry-and-permitted-items The "Additional clothing and blankets (must be carried loosely)" allowance is the clear choice for smuggling a marital aid in. Barring that, there are other ways to do it that don't involve painful insertion into bodily cavities. You do need somewhat larger breasts to make it work, though.
  19. Vanek or bust for Olofsson! Just keep him away from the bookies.
  20. Thank God. Finally. It's something.
  21. "Victor Olofsson could be a sleeper in the discussion of Calder Trophy finalists as NHL rookie of the year this season." https://www.nhl.com/news/five-things-learned-preseason-september-25/c-309486964
  22. While I haven't been swayed by Tage's high cheek bones, I don't necessarily disagree with the above. For me, if you compare Tage to Mitts during the preseason, it's apparent Tage did something during the off-season to improve his lot. I only caught one Tage toe-drag. I didn't see him being moved off the puck as much like what happened routinely last season. I think his read of the play, while maybe not enhanced, seemed a little different. I'm not saying I think he is ready for the second line, but after these pre-season games I would be okay with giving him a look for a few real NHL games on the third line to start the season, at the very least to assess how far he still needs to go. We don't have our good third second-liner yet (he says "yet" with feigned optimism) to force the lines to assemble in a more solid fashion, so I really don't see how it could hurt anything.
  23. I think you're being impatient and something else. Contrasted with Mitts, there is no mistaking his talent and, even despite the gaffs last season, the growth in his game during the season. He's smart and will learn to patch a lot of the holes in his game. The more elite players are always making higher risk/greater reward plays. Eichel does it frequently, still, like entering the zone on his own right down the middle. We had a discussion here once about this: not every attempt by an elite player to make a play will work out. It's how they recover in the moment, and the results over the course of a season that matter.
