I can’t let a thread like this go without my usual voice of dissent when it comes to the value of AHL success. I believe, the Crunch’s success has more to do Tampa’s drafting prowess and not any veteran leadership on the farm. I, for example, don’t believe Catensomething develops into Brayden Point if only he played for Syracuse instead of Rochester.

I think that’s ultimately where they want to be with the ability to use their three best defensive forwards as one line in the third period when they go with three lines or against certain opponents or certain game situations
-
I like that his statement does not sound exactly like several of those I read. At least there’s a level of sincerity when they don’t sound all rehearsed.

While all this is true, I’ve been told the public profession that Patrick wants to see how the Blackhawk’s season progresses before requesting a trade is privately him wanting to see how Buffalo progresses. Like I said at the beginning, I thought it was unlikely they trade for him but it still could happen, especially if things go even better then expected for the Sabres although he likely goes to a Cup contender to finish the season.
-
I would be surprised if Buffalo is involved in the Tkachuk talk. He controls were he goes because of his FA status next year and my guess is he wouldn’t want to be in sane division as his brother.
-
Oh I agree, and I am excited and the reality is that if the current group expected to start 2022/2023 in Buffalo is as good as advertised, they only need three or four of the twenty-two players drafted the last two years to hit.
-
That is funny.

Not in East Aurora. 😎

If all these prospects turn out to be what some people think they will be, the Stanley Cup final will be Rochester versus Buffalo in three or four years

It all comes down to the fact that everyone has their own motivations and interests and those constantly change. People tend to think that everyone wants the same things but we all want something different at different stages of our life. When I was 21 I wanted to be in the city, Between 30-55, Grand Island was a great place to raise the family and now at 62, I love East Aurora and being able to walk to any of Barbill, Pasquales’s, Griffon’s and Rick’s on Main and no freakin open container law.

They have 8 forwards under contract and still have to sign their two most coveted RFA’s. They do not have as much room as it would appear.
-
I disagree. Someone, maybe multiple someone’s, we’re discussing offer sheets with his camp. Teams don’t choose arbitration lightly.
-
They chose club elected arbitration with Tkachul because they feared someone was about to drop an offer sheet on him.
-
Just bumping this to confirm there is interest. I need to know soon the number of tickets and preferred game I will need to secure. Please pm me if serious. No worries if the interest isn’t there. Thanks.

I agree. Sometimes that due diligence leads to something.

I’m hoping Mitts makes the jump just as TT did last year. I’m just reading the tea leaves and if the stuff that I’m hearing coupled with the things that we’ve seen reputable “insiders” report, I think he’s the odd man out.

You keep bringing up Granato’s statement and KA’’s statement about building from within. You shouldn’t put such absolute trust into their public statements. KA has obviously tried to make moves that run counter to that. In addition, they just drafted 22 guys in the last two years alone. They won’t keep everyone. Finally, they know they owe it to the players to continually try to get better. I am 100% convinced that they are still trying to add and simple math says that if someone comes, someone has to leave.
-
To be clear, no one has told me he’s gone, I just think he’s the most likely if they do add someone
-
This is why I continue to expect Mitts not to be here in October. I continue to hear rumblings that they are looking to add 1, maybe even 2 forwards and they are already over 12. We all know that they will need 14/15 to cover injuries but who are they sitting if they sign a scoring winger and a more defensively inclined center.
-
I believe he signed with Seattle.
-
People been saying this for years. You can keep the guys you want if you are smart about it. Chicago made some stupid decisions.
-
I think you flipped your numbers around but the point stands.

You can give me the list of free agents on the last couple of Cup winners if you’d like.
