It really is head scratching. If Terry's not up for the financial stress of owning the Sabres, why not just sell and make a very very tidy profit on the return? If he's a real fan he has to know how much he has screwed things up. For thr love of something you love let someone else take over. It's bizarre.

I really want to start hearing those chants. I just can’t get past Darth’s Ben Bishop tidbit.

    Horrific tragedy.

We have 2 bridges across our harbour between Halifax and Dartmouth.  The older one opening in April 1955 - extensive repairs and upgrades over the years.  The 'new bridge' opened in July 1970.

We have gates to stop traffic.  We have 'rock islands' at the base of the towers at the water end (designed to take any hit from a ship - no direct hit is possible).  We also have experienced 'pilots' that board every large ship the enters the harbour that is bound for the container port beyond both bridges.  They drive the ships into and out of the harbour - probably not going to help in a power failure.  The largest ships port at a new container pier that is at the outer edge of the inner harbour and the ships do not pass under the bridges.  It is near the famous Pier 21 - where every immigrant to Canada up until about the 1970s entered the country for the first time.

We take the safely for granted.

There is no way that it was not a harbor pilot on the ship in Baltimore.

Byrncliff golf resort in Varysburg, NY is a good place to view the eclipse and they are hosting a viewing party for anyone interested. You can even get in a round of golf too!

I'm pissed. My mom's cabin is right down the street from there, off Centerline road, and I was supposed to be there for it.

I have to think and I am HOPEFUL that the scoring drought he has this year is due to playing through a wrist injury (and maybe a foot injury) as the type of player he is, the way he shoots, even a little wrist/arm injury could impact him a lot.

I haven't checked the up-to-date numbers, but I posted a lot post on this a couple weeks ago.  His shots per game are about the same this year vs last year. Deep dive into where his shots are coming from, and he was getting 'about' the same quality chances. His ice time is similar.  The ONE thing that is different is his shooting percentage is down 5% compared to last year and the year before.  A guy who shots like he does, it would make sense (to me) that playing through an arm/wrist injury would cause that.

Austin Matthews played through a nagging arm/wrist injury (similar to what Tage had earlier this year) and it never fully healed for him in the offseason.  The year he had the injury, Matthews had about the same number of shots as his prior years (like Tage) but his shooting percentage was about 30% lower (just like Tage). With an offseason to let it fully heal, he came back the next year to the same (actually slightly better) scoring pace that he had the previous years.

I remember who it was, now.

Fantasy  huh?    You claim ROR was a #2 or #3 on St Louis?   He was their leading point scorer, he killed penalties, he played on their PP, and he led forwards in TOI - sounds like he was a 1C to me.

This is not hard.  There are 32 teams.  Each has a 1C.   Tage is it on the Sabres.  He may not meet your standards for 1C production this year but the 47 goals and 94 points last season are still in the books.

If you want to make it complicated and say there is more to it than that is another discussion for another thread.

There is more to it than that. And last year was last year. I hope he gets there. I really do. He has to do it against starting goalies for me to believe.

And ftr, I’ve been a Tage supporter all along. He’s been playing a lot better lately. He needed to do it in the ‘23 portion of the season though. Not sure who has been talking about his injury but I really hope they are right and he has a huge bounce back next year.

    YAY,… NEXT YEAR,… YAY!!!!

    It's really not that complicated.

Why is KA's plan so long and torturous?

If it's really his choice among so many other plans, he should be fired.

Of course it's not his choice.

Nothing changes unless Terry changes or sells the team.

This summer will be very telling…

(I tried to go into depth, but there was just too much, so I hit delete and I’ll just leave it at that.)

I agree with you that Tage is unquestionably a #1C. What I would like to see more from him is a little more jam both on offense and defense. He does it intermittently but not enough for me. Tuch is a big and fast guy who seems more willing to play a more muscular game. An interesting issue is who is best suited to play the other wing on that line? Is Skinner definitely out of the mix? I'm not sure. Is Benson a good option? That would be interesting.

On a team that misses the playoffs.

I got flamed on here for saying that Ryan O’Reilly wasn’t even a #1. The funny thing was, he wasn’t even the #1 on the Sabres at the time. He also went to a team as their #2 (maybe 3?).

Tage is not a #1 C. He may be someday, but he ain’t now.

I’m getting to the point where I just can’t take all this fantasy. I think I’m going to have to stick to GDTs, they usually deal in what is, not what could be.

SDS said that earlier. I’m asking how they actually stopped the cars in such a tight time window. You’re definitely not getting cops out there to block it off, so thank god they had whatever they did have there.

Police were already there because of the construction.

Yes to both, but I wouldn't be upset if Don was let go. I think Adams is doing it the right way with his draft and develop strategy. The fact I'm in a small minority reinforces my belief. At the start of the season almost everyone on here wanted 6K waived, he's now a top 10 goalie in the league. 18 months ago most people on here wanted Mitts waived, never forgiving him for not being able to do a pull-up at the combine. Adams flipped him for a top pair d-man entering his prime, a good(possibly great) hockey trade that many said he couldn't/wouldn't pull off. A few years ago the majority on here wanted Tage waived, never forgiving him for O'Rielly winning the cup. He's a damn good player on a long term team friendly contract. We're on the right path, the usual suspects telling me I'm wrong only means I'm right.

Ftr, I’m not convinced that BB-4 is a first pair d man yet (not on a cup contender, anyway.) Also, while Tage has looked a lot better of late, he has to show me a lot more (especially before the season is lost) to convince me that he is part of a cup contending team.

It’s amazing to me just how many posters in the past 13 years have been “right” about the future,… until they weren’t.

    We should expect more.

The Sabres while still mathematically alive are clearly not going to make the playoffs.  Facing facts, they should be tanking to get the best draft position possible.  And based on the third period against Edmonton, it looks like the Sabres got that memo.

It would be better not to bring any Rochester players up so they're not in the locker room while this is going on.  Toxicity is contagious.

When will this notion just go away?
