  1. No Sabre's playoff games really sucks. I'm actually a little surprised at how strongly I feel about it, but it really sucks.

Now, from the obvious to the mundane. I know that Children's fundraising has been brought up before, but it has to be mentioned again. I was driving through a town and got stopped at a light. Someone comes up to the window asking for money for the schools softball team. I never carry cash so I couldn't contribute. No offense, but how much is a glove and a couple of bats. Anyway, at every light for the next 2 miles or so were these people. I felt bad at first, but after 2 miles of the Begger's Gauntlet, I was glad I didn't have any money and wanted them to just go away. I'm still trying to figure out how they are different from the window washing bums.

  2. I was watching the game on NHLN last night. It was the TSN feed of the Calgary game. It was in HD but I noticed that it just didn't look right to me. I then noticed that there was the banner across the top of the picture that has the score and time on it. Fine. But then I noticed that it was not at the top of the screen. It was actually down a bit and the picture above it was in shadow. Whenever play was in the middle of the ice you could not see anything on the far side of the rink because of this stupid banner.

So my complaint is more of a question. What kind of jackass says to themselves,"Ya know, that HD picture is just too darn big. I think we should cover almost an eighth of it."? Oh yeah, TV producers who cant get out of their own way. And I did measure it. They covered up almost an eighth of the picture

  3. I was sick of the word "bracket" even before Sunday. It's making me  at this point.

    I HATE MARCH MADNESS!!

If a game winning basket with no time on the clock didn't happen every third game, I might actually get excited over it.

And what's with all the teams. Who cares about Laramie Ag/Tech vs. Peoria Clown College.

  4. Now that we're on to traffic...The Four Way Stop. It's just not that difficult. The first to stop - the first to go. If two people stop at the same time, the one on the right goes first. It's that easy.

Every day, on the way to and from work, I hit this intersection that is quite busy and there is always some dope gummin' up the works.

Yes, I'm complaining about the nine extra seconds it takes me to get home from work.

  5. While I am very grateful to still have a job, I will voice a complaint here that layoffs have left us with half the people to do the same amount of work ... and in some cases they laid off the wrong damn people.

Also, no offense SwampD, but while I am complaining, Super Bowl is two words ....

I hate having to fix posts.

  6. I have a few today.

First. It realy bothers me that ESPN gave the Bite Me game so much time when they usually never even cover hockey. Just another example for the baseball elitists over there to show everyone what a Boorish sport hockey is.

Next. Why can't companies just say "Super Bowl" in their commercials. I know that there are copyright issues, but who cares. It's all free advertising for the NFL anyway so why do they care. It just sounds stupid to me when they have to say "Big game" in their ads when we all know they mean "Super Bowl".

And finally. The Canadians are 2nd in the NHL for power play opportunities. Gee, is the league trying to help them out in their 100th year?...hmmm

  7. My daughter started throwing up(among other things) last friday during the Sabre's game. It lasted six hours. My wife started throwing up(among other things) sunday at 11am and I started at 12pm. It lasted six hours for both of us and we are STILL feeling it. This stomach virus that's going through the NYC area is like nothing I have ever experienced before.

All I really wanted for Christmas was a yule Log. No such luck.

  8. #2. Why is it at Christmastime the world feels the need to empty all mental patients from thier institutions and hand them all drivers licenses on the way out?

When I first read this today I was at home, on a cumfy couch, with a cup of coffee, and I thought it was kinda funny.

Then I drove to work, and realized that truer words have never been writen here.

  9. I am so sick and tired of worrying about my teams leaving town. It's hard enough to be a Sabres or Bills fan, but to always have that hanging over our heads makes it even more difficult. I don't want to hear,"well , just be glad that you have a team to root for." BS ! We're stuck in a Crap22. They wont make any changes if we keep supporting the team, but if we don't support the team then they will move it so we have to keep supporting it. I don't think any other fan-bases have to deal with this mindf%#&.

  10. It really sucks that so many people are losing their jobs because of the economy and it is even a bigger kick in the nuts that it is happening around the holidays!

We just went through a round of layoffs today. I'm safe(for the time being) but, boy, it sure isn't a fun place to be today.

  11. Here's a complaint -- not only did the NFL games suck today, but the halftime shows? Jesse McCartney and the Jonas Brothers? Seriously? Is the NFL trying to branch out into that 9-to-15-year-old screaming 'tween girls demographic? I mean seriously - were there any NFL fans - hardcore or casual - that saw the halftime lineup and said "ooh, good - they got the Jonas Brothers."

It must be nice to have some sound financial backing because not only do the Jonas Brothers suck, but man, are they effin ugly. It was bad enough to hear them from the other room. But then to go in and see them, I'm not sure what was worse.

  12. My employer is using the banking situation as an excuse not to pay us bonuses this year as well.... But pay attention to the quarterly reports, stock grants for everyone *one* layer above me.

    1. Tip jars at coffee shops. I thought it was the give-a-penny jar (as it wasn't marked). You should have seen the look on the girl's face when I reached in and grabbed a nickel because I was short five cents. I realized my mistake and dropped $1 in. They got a good laugh out of it. I paid for my coffee out of the tip jar... whoops.

    2. Douche bags that get into political conversations over lunch at work. What's worse? They're both FAR opposite sides of the spectrum. On quotes Michael Moore, the other quotes Sean Hannity.

    3. News outlets that introduce the Sean Hannity show as "news."

    4. Designer dogs with those faggily little "bennifer" style names.

I hate to laugh at your pain, but this post is effin funny.

  13. Well, since you mentioned it, here's my beef. It's one thing when someone supports an opposing candidate. However, that does not give people against McCain the right to vandalize McCain campaign signs. I saw this happen in Okmulgee, OK; at the local Republican campaign headquarters in Lynchburg, VA; and on my own car!

These are not isolated incidents by any means. It's been going on across the country. I wouldn't do that to an Obama supporter, so why should they be so criminally brazen to do that to me or any other McCain supporter?

I'm curious to see if anyone on here can come up with any justifiable excuse for vandalism of this nature.

Not an excuse, but I guess they figure that the republicans have been vandalizing the country for eight years and they wanted some payback.

  14. So your Thursday complaint is people that are full of Hope ? Wow too down for me and also another complaint of mine (downer people)

I'm not really that down, just tryin to be funny. I should have used the [/sarcasm] thingy or maybe the ;) .

Now I want to complain about people that take everything so seriously, sheesh. ;)

  15. I hear ya on that one, what I mostly notice is it's the high school or not far removed from high school (+ 7) crowd

HHhmm, Mainly all Millennials I believe, <_< ....

that's it my next complaint when did they suddenly slip a couple generations by me.. Damn Millennials, all young and naive make me realize I'm getting older ,can't stand that.

Let's not forget full of hope. Remember hope? It's been awile.

  16. I hate when threads around here turn political, so I'll point out that this post is not meant to be political. I saw a kid on the subway today wearing a sweatshirt covered with a bunch of Soviet Union stuff, the hammer and sickle, CCCP, and a bunch of other stuff. Then right next to all those logos, he's wearing a "McCain-Palin" pin. Seemed like a stupid combination to me.

I also don't like political avitars and sig's(of any persuasion). Their only purpose is to incite anger from the other side.

What I hate more, though, is when guys join hockey leagues that they are obviously too good for. My rink has 8 divisions. You would think that these guys could find a division better suited for them. And when you ask them about it they say,"I'm just having fun." Well, I was having fun to until your team wanted to feel good about itself by beating up on people that are not as good as them.

  17. :wallbash: The root of the crisis are the social engineers like Barney Frank, not Reagan. Reagan did not encourage equal opportunity lending. The banks didn't start those lending practices till the Clinton Administration. Banks didn't make those loans till our government told them they would guarantee the risky loans.

This has nothing to do with my post but I'll bite. What you said is true, kinda. Those lending practices did start during the Clinton administration, but those loans were not actually risky at the time because our economy was so strong that people could actually pay them back. It wasn't until this current culture of corporate greed, pushed by this administration and supported by both a republican house and senate, stripped the country of actual wealth and it became a problem.

All I'll say is "record surplus to record debt"
