  1. I'm looking at the goals themselves, and not just the boxscore... he has been doing fine, but not shutout against the islanders, or deflate the red wings good. he needs to get back to that.

He was that good in the first against Boston. You can only bail the team out so much when they don't show up.

  2. 7:00pm. Join us here for game discussion, or in the chatroom.

I sense a major event occuring tonight... Whether it be a monumental whooping, monumental collapse, monumental screwjob, or monumental incident, there's some unfinished business from last year. I don't think the sabres are still over that april fools beatdown, the tucker/hecht thing, the ruff/tucker thing. I don't think the maple leafs are over the playoff elimination drubbing, the peters golf swing, or the tucker/ruff thing. Add peca to the mix, and 6,000+ additional season tickets (6,000 less maple leafs fans) and we've got ourselves a game. I do believe that miller will shine tonight. he's had a crappy couple of games, so tonight is the perfect night to shine... Plus, biron will probably get the start tomorrow, so miller will need a performance to remind everyone that he's the #1 guy.

Come on Corp, look at the goals themselves and not just the boxscore. You know he's been doing fine.

How about stirring up a little controversy? Replace Miller with Biron tonight. Why you ask? GAA home and away. Miller's is 1.72 on the road and 3.30 at home. Since he will most likely sit the next night anyway, why not give Biron a chance at home and start Miller against the NYR?

This is one of the most frustrating things about being a Buffalo sports fan IMHO. Everyone always wants a controversey...the guy on the bench is always better than the guy playing. Miller was the NHL 1st star of the month, is putting up better numbers than he was last year at this time. Not good enough for you? Sure he gave up 4 goals in each of his last 2 starts...His team also made 4 terrible mistakes that led to the 4 goals in Atlanta, and the team was sleepwalking through the first 50 minutes of the Boston game.

I agree that they should split the weekend up, but looking at how things stand right now, tonight is a division game, against a team closer to us in the standings. That means you go with your starter.

EDIT: Apparently Lindy agrees with me: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=Aq_H...re&type=fantasy

  3. Few more thoughts:

    1. Did anyone get a close look at the high sticking? I didn't see Gaustad's stick hit his face. It looked to me like Chara got cut when Gaustad's helmet hit him.

    2. I was glad to see Mara finally get called for a penalty. He has grabbing on to everyone tonight.

    3. Was it really necessary for them to say it was ironic that the Bruins got called for a dive since the Sabres are known to be divers. I have 2 problems with that:

    a. Most of the Sabres reputation comes from the Bruins.

    b. Even if the Sabres are divers, that doesn't mean that the Bruins can't be called for diving.

  4. A posting last week suggested the Sabres needed to lost big to end their winning streak. It would wake the team up and get them playing well...if that theory hold water, this may be the game!

Hopefully this isn't a trend. They've got a busy couple of weeks ahead and need to get on a roll again.

I certainly hope no ones ready to throw them under the bus...I have a feeling they'll be on a roll shortly.

I think this is the third bad game in a row.

BTW strange coincidence that the overhead goal cam was out on that reviewed play huh?

  5. I put 2 of the goals tonight on Spacek. The first goal he should have played the pass. The second Boston goal as well. There is no reason to take that penalty. Miller can handle himself on breakaways. If you can really impede the scoring chance, then go ahead, and take the penalty. But Kessel still got the scoring chance and the PP.

  6. I was thinking the same thing. Kalinin on the icing where he got hooked was one huge example of many. God, I hope we don't revert back to old NHL :(

It just seemed to me that the Sabres can't go to the net without getting obstructed.

They need to score a quick one on this PP.
