Elliotte Friedman is reporting Pegula will meet the team in Montreal

[FADE IN] SCENE: INTERIOR, MONTREAL VISITORS LOCKER ROOM. TERRY STANDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR, THE TEAM SURROUNDING IN VARIOUS STATES OF UNDRESS TERRY: Hi guys. I'm not sure how to start, but I felt the need to, uh, come up here to see everyone. Lindy here, geeze, Lindy is my hero. I've been a fan of the Buffalo Sabres for a long time. Those teams, they [COUGHS], they worked hard. Excuse me. [SIPS AN ICE COLD SMARTWATER] I think it's imperative that every player on this team realize that the only way to recover from this slump is to work harder. Back when I was a young businessman, looking to make my first million, I... [RAMBLES INCOHERENTLY FOR 10 MINUTES ABOUT SOMETHING NO ONE IN THE ROOM UNDERSTANDS OR RELATES TO] TERRY, CONT: Anyway, thank you guys. I am here for you. [TERRY TURNS AROUND AND HEADS FOR THE DOOR. HE PULLS ON THE DOOR FIRST, THEN REALIZES IT IS A PUSH DOOR, FINALLY EXITING THE ROOM] [THE PLAYERS AND COACHES SIT IN CONFUSED SILENCE. IN THE BACKGROUND, HONKY TONK BADONKADONK BY TRACE ADKINS CREEPS THROUGH THE WALLS AS THE ARENA STAFF TESTS THE PA SYSTEM] [FADE TO BLACK] -
I wasn't necessarily speaking to the work that needs to be done as much as the traits a person should have that are often overlooked because those in charge are not competent enough to recognize those traits. Which I believe is the case here. Pegula is not an effective judge of management talent and never will be.

The Buffalo Sabres, like many regular businesses, are failing because the culture that starts at the top with ownership and management is shot through with mediocrity. There is no vision, there is no tenacity, there is no humility. Just poor judgment and excuses. A rudderless ship. There's a very good chance that someone exists out there who could fix this mess, someone with talent and creativity. But they will never find a home at the Sabres.

Any Twitter alternatives currently a good source for hockey news?
darksabre replied to Weave's topic in The Aud Club
FWIW BlueSky is having some issues today as they try to get a handle on the exponentially increasing user base. LOTS of big sports personalities showing up over the last 48 hours. Hopefully they'll have the hamster wheel turning freely again later today. -

For those of you coming over to BlueSky, there are things called feeds and starter packs to help you build your following list. Check out this starter pack: https://go.bsky.app/3JSejAY And my custom Sabres feed: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:gb2oixzzczt3wnthetoptzcp/feed/aaaiylu6exrzu -
Will Lindy allow players to have their own goal songs?

I am not sure I have much else to say. Woof woof woof

My work here is done

Man, this team just does absolutely nothing for me. I see the names, but they might as well be something generated by ChatGPT.

Arizona Coyotes are relocating to Utah as Utah HC (hockey club)
darksabre replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Man, those are some lame names. Utah being the Beehive State seems like it would offer some interesting options. -
See, doesn't everyone feel better now?

Let's check in to see if everyone is being normal about this. Oh

Luke Adam

That would have been enough to get my group to renew our season tickets. And probably a lot of others too.

I don't have too much more to offer on this other than that I hope it works. But I keep thinking one thing: This might work, or it might not. But there's one thing I'm certain of: Lindy isn't going to take too much heat from the fans over it. There won't be any Fire Lindy chants. We already did that, and we know it didn't matter. At the very least, it didn't help. So if the players were well and truly looking for more accountability, they're about to get it. ALL of it. And not because of who Lindy is as a coach. But because of who Lindy is to most fans, to the city. He's Teflon, he's going to get a free pass. It's okay Lindy, we didn't want this for you anyway. The players though. Oh boy, the players. Get ready for hell boys.

Has anyone checked in on Luke Adam?

Loving and Hating this on such severe and equivalent levels that I collapse in on myself like a dying star, destroying all life in the universe in the flap of a butterfly's wings.

😆 I think it's also worth mentioning, for those who are worried about Jerry's and Terry's feelings getting hurt, that the league answers to the owners, not vice versa. It's a trade association that exists to funnel revenue to the teams. And the owners are at the top. They control everything. They dictate league policy. If racial issues are being covered up, they're the ones signing off on that. Filing a suit against the league for how it handles discrimination and race issues is a big lift. How motivated do you think the owners, and by default the league, are going to be to get this thing resolved, if they aren't getting called out by name? If Jerry Jones isn't getting thumped in the media, this drags on quietly and forever. That doesn't give the plaintiff much leverage. Put them on blast? Now you have everyone's undivided attention. Will it work? Who knows. But they have no reason not to pull that lever as far as I can tell. Full send.
