So they went all Korean BBQ on us. What was grosser, Bob watching the folks eat his own flesh or Cujo on a Stick?
I thought the episode was dreadfully written, just completely implausible, corny, sappy dreck you would never expect people in that situation to speak.
I did like Rick's description of the group as "the walking dead." And the barn door scene and aftermath of the fleshnado were cool.
The final scene... here we go again?

Spoke to a lady about 15 miles outside of town, really in the boondocks, and she had -38 at her house yesterday morning. The state record is -42.

Crosby and the 05-06 Pens seem like a decent comparable given what virtually every serious hockey mind has said about McDavid and how bad the Sabres are right now. A point a game+ player, but the team ends up with 58 points.

bio needs to be on the Sabres when they're good again. Talk about someone willing to go to the dirty places to make a point.

Jack Eichel is significantly outperforming where John Tavares was Pre-Draft. The expectations for his rookie year should be appropriately elevated.
Connor is similarly outperforming.
From what I've heard from Islanders fans, Tavares has been a bit of a development project. He had to get a lot stronger physically and he's really improved his skating. He might just now be coming into his own in season five or six or whatever. I know people are expecting a different trajectory for McDavid.

I'm guessing that only a team photographer would have access like that, and that photo would never have seen the light of day.

They need to do it to coincide with the end of the rebuild. I think it could easily be accomplished if they set their collective minds to it. Ted, we know you stalk the forums, give this some serious though, okay?
It could be spun so many ways to make them look good. They could start with a big mea culpa for not only their turdburger, but the slug, and the butterknife. Sorry, fans. Look humble. Then make a principled stand. We're going to give you what you want and we promise to never take it away. We don't care about the revenue. (Terry almost certainly doesn't; the bean-counters do, but Ted has already said the revenue stream for such things is only a trickle.) Then you knock it out of the park with a perfect royal blue and gold retro look, proclaiming that you're essentially an original six franchise and the uniform is now sacrosanct. (Sacrosanct, but here in five years, after a period of quiet, as the team is really good again and the fondness for a certain era of Sabres hockey grows, maybe you come out with a blue and gold goathead third.)

Of course they will. They have to. Honest to God, as much as I rail against the "braintrust" of this franchise, I know that they will, and not because they have to. It's just the right thing to do.

I'd like to unpin all of them. I hate looking in two places to see if there are new threads. Let the free market decide what goes at the top. The pinned threads would be up there anyway.

If they are truly franchise changing players like they've been advertised to be, they should be able to step right in. I wouldn't expect them to be elite right away, but I would expect them to contribute.
Given what serious hockey people have said about McDavid, yeah, I expect elite. I won't rip him if he's not elite. If he's not really, really good, something is wrong.

That's poorly written and I'm sure you know that. Who thinks it's natural causes?

I don't know what's stopping this franchise from finally getting it right. Give us the classic look we want and an extended moratorium on third jerseys. I'd take three years. Just give it a rest already.

I'm sad and angry all at the same time. Sad, of course, because 35 is way too freakin' young. Angry because whether natural causes or suicide, I'd be fairly surprised if concussions didn't play a role...and the NHL continues to think 2 games here or there is actually a punishment.
I've been trying to find out what caused the concussion in February 2012 that kept him out of the lineup for seven weeks. He returned for one game and went out again and never really came back. There were no fights in that February 2012 game against Colorado.
It was the guy's game. We can't change what he was.
Fair enough.
