My descent into fan hell has been completed. I did a quick fist pump when the Panthers just scored. That's a first for me in 40 years of being a fan. ###### Terry. ###### tanking. Most of all, ###### me.

I am thinking of a number between 1 and 10, what's your guess
4. It's always four.

Ok, that was pretty awesome.
My battalion's in the mountains, to the north!

I'd tie Reinhart to the bed with silk scarves, then drizzle chocolate syrup over his chest, and top it off with whipped cream, and then...

Rehash of Rochester story and not worth the click.

So people see different colors. How intriguing.

Unfunny.
You, you of all people? Wait, who are you exactly?

Teams deal with stuff like this all the time. Pro Athlete and substance abuse are pretty much synonymous, especially when you consider the abuse these guys put themselves through.
That said, I doubt that "likes to party" is on pretty much any team's list of red flags.
Given how good he and McDavid could be, and the extraordinary importance of these guys to the future of their franchises, I think the calculus of the decision has to be a little more involved than usual. Let's say Player A not only parties a lot but doesn't eat well, doesn't like to work out, doesn't always get to practice on time. He's still a typical young guy. But you're still worried about the kind of pro he's going to be. You're drafting the player and the person. You look at both. No one should want Johnny Manziel on skates.

How seriously do teams look at stuff like this? We can laugh it off, but they have to consider it. A few beers is one thing. What if a player has a real problem?

Just poking fun, good friend. I figured I'd attempt something that wasn't entirely obvious, but being a scientist, I'm not the most creative or imaginative person so I ended up with a slightly less obvious version. ;)

I'm coming for ya? Sounds vaguely threatening.
Also, for the tinfoil hat-wearers (you know who you are; hi; oh, hi; who are you talking to?; why?; why would I do that?), the idea that Eichel already knows McDavid is not going to Buffalo could be took and ran with.

Fried bologna with grilled onions, Swiss cheese and dijon mustard on a toasted parmesan bagel. It's what's for dinner!
Can I lick the plate?

Big Tyler's house for sale for $1.7 million: http://www.bizjournals.com/buffalo/news/2015/02/17/ex-sabre-tyler-myers-buffalo-house-on-market-for-1.html?ana=twt
People who think hockey players in Buffalo are given room to breath should note that this is a story in a newspaper.

I think the way we approach power play (PP) stats is overly simplistic. Instead of goals per PP attempt, why not goals per PP time? Better yet, why not goal differential per PP time (to penalize teams for allowing shorties)? Anyone seen or done any analysis on the merits of that metric vs. the traditional goals per attempt metric?
OMFG. You're a genius. Thumb through the Sabres Media Guide and there's your name. The Gilbert Number. You'll be famous.

So odd. I mean, I understand and appreciate that Nolan would prefer to keep whatever is going on "in the room", but it really leaves the rest of us wondering (particularly in a year when there's nothing else to talk about). I get that he's a kid, but this concerns me because we have (and have had) plenty of other teenagers come through without issue. So is Zadorov doing something worse than any of our other young rookies, or is Nolan just less tolerant of it than past coaches? All very curious. Whatever the reason, I hope Zads learns from it like he did from being a healthy scratch early in the season.
Agreed. Into the void of information all kinds of indiscretions can be imagined. It doesn't serve Zadorov's image well. Or maybe it really is something more troubling that they're not willing to discuss. If he just slept in, big deal, come out and say it.
Unfortunately, the old issue Russians in the North American game comes into it, too.

I didn't fist pump the loss. I fist pumped the goal, and I didn't even mean to. It just happened. I pulled the fist back out as soon as I realized the skankiness of it all.
