Jacky Jack!

Jacky Jack ? ,,,,hmm, not so much

I hear you, but as anyone with Centre Ice can attest, it's pretty much an industry-wide thing.
Rick may be a little slower than his prime, but i'll take him over the cookie cutty PbP guys most teams s
I do agree with this; my point wasn't to nitpick. Despite his imperfections, he's OUR RJ .............what's funny is how much other fan boards can't stand his goal call. Oh well.
-
I never get tired of RJ's goal calls as well as his knowledge of the game. However, he is showing signs of being a half-step behind. The only knock I have on him is his use of nondescript "filler" language: my biggest pet peeve is "insert player name tries to get away" - overused ad nauseum and this one does not accurately describe the play - at all.

If we are toiling around the bottom of the league, might as well see what some of the kids can do. I think Carrier, Dupuy, Rodrigues or Kaleta all would have been better options. Hell, Jack Nevins has taken on all comers, rewarding him with a game or two would have shown the kids that his type of attitude is what they seek. I know 4 of the 5 I mentioned are on AHL deals but at some point making a statement is needed.
I think we all know what Kaleta can (and can’t) do

I'm glad the ref was specific in saying we have a good "hockey" goal. I was concerned we may have just scored for the Bandits.
I do like that authoritative description; I'd like it to stick
-
I think Minn has among the most awesome uniforms ...
sorry to disagree - I am a fan of their legacy North Star unis....

No margin for error when you only score once. Risto really is to blame for the 2nd goal despite the blown phantom tripping call. Panarin should have gotten 4 minutes for that swan dive.
-
A great brand with a great new variety : Makers Mark Cask Strength - it's on my current bucket list
-
Driver and 3 wood.
Opinion three is my favorite.
agreed, but our first goal was an absolute gift.
-
We had no penalties called on us for the first 57 minutes of the game. Then three in the last 3 minutes immediately after we got the lead.
;)
unfortunately they were all legitimate calls, it's just not customary for the refs to call a second minor once the first one has been called. The ref calling the penalty on Risto may not have seen the call on Gorges.
The Sabres performance on shootouts is really lacking this year. They all seem to get in too tight to the goalie then handcuff themselves. That near empty net goal would have iced it.

bullsh&t ending. Someone needed to come into Crawford with speed and tee up a slapper. Too much getting cute.
Not happy Kane gets the SO winner, that is just salt in the wounds. A 6 on freaking 3 ? Sabers did themselves in.

Friggin Des battling the man with one hand and stick
handle with the other....
love the Nordiques logo in your profile - !
-
that was a great cycling, grinding 4th line goal; check out Deslauriers fending off his man and passing the puck with one arm to Cal - impressive all the way around
-
"Eichel could not get away"..... no RJ, that's not what happened - at all. His catch all phrases wear me out.
-
I'm with you. And if it were Rob Gronkowski wanting to come home to Buffalo rather than Stamkos wanting to go home to Toronto, well, what then, nfreeman?
anyone have any inkling as to Gronk's affinity for his hometown? Somehow I have gotten the feeling that Buffalo (the city & area) is not that big of a deal for him....though I could be wrong
-
I don't know why but every time I watch this I break out laughing, what a play. ROR is the real deal and
likely future captainshould be captain now
-
NHL GameCenter made the same mistake. My guess is that it's a database error and both GameCenter and ESPN pull data from the same spot.
don't think it's a database error, as the game score is an isolated piece of data. Whatever it was, it was FUBAR.
-
A 3-1 ot win. Nice.
and it shows McCabe with an unassisted goal. Nice work ESPN. Too busy pleasuring themselves with the Heisman
-
-
great thing ROR won it with that slick move/shot, because I was not at all shocked to see Gionta miss the net by at least 5 feet on a breakaway. He needs to be put out to pasture; I really wish someone had the stones to pull the plug on him.
A captain who is hurting the team - not good.
-
we all love RJ as a homer announcer, but his go-to phrases "can't get away" or "almost got away" is so maddeningly absent of any real context or description. It's even worse while listening to a game on the radio; there is absolutely no descriptive value with these lazy phrases.
-
according to the current replay rules they got the call right w/ Gio being offsides. But the way this replay rule has been written & implemented is hurting the game. That was a sick pass and great finish, and the offside did not give Buffalo a material advantage on the play.
If the NHL wants to keep worrying about decreasing goals per game and fan discontent as a major sport, the NHL needs to revisit and sh*tcan this replay crap in its current format.

RJ just called RR "Risto Ristolainen" ...... :w00t:

I have some problems with Bylsma so far. I am open-minded, but he makes questionble decisions. Anyway, if this team finishes in the last five, it's on him. (Barring injuries of course.)
This team is underperforming. Bigtime.
I am legitimately curious about your opinion of DB; are his decisions merely of the line combination variety, or are you referring to others ?
