  1. Bono might have the smallest ego of any rock star ever. What do you hate about him, the millions (and millions is no exaggeration) of lives he's saved in Africa? The fact he's had the same bandmates for the last 36 years and same wife for 32 years. Yeah he sucks - you have facts behind your ###### blind bashing? Could care less if you hate his music, it's not about the music.

+1, finally a voice of reason in the wilderness of complete ignorance

Thought this was an NHL draft thread?

It was until someone made a bizarre Nickelback vs. U2 comment

  2. Yeah, cause Bono has never been viewed as having an ego before.............

Since you chose not to answer my questions which cited specific examples of his leadership in humanitarian causes, I'll take that as complete show of ignorance. Let me get this straight - a rock star with an ego who you have a problem with? Like he's not one of many.

Sorry, but you make no sense. Let's carry on with the hockey talk.

  3. Has he? Like alot of these celebs who attach themselves to these causes, many of them are just doing it for the attention it brings to them and that seems to fit Bono's reputation

Do you have any idea of his spearheading the RED campaign (cure for AIDS), debt forgiveness for impoverished nations, and efforts to combat hunger in affected areas? Apparently not, otherwise you wouldn't be making an oblique reference to his "reputation" and comparing him to other egomaniacal celebrities.

  4. hah thought I was alone here on the U2 hate, Bono is full of ######

Is this an actual hockey draft thread? You guys lost me at Nickelwhack vs. U2. Bono might be full of sh** but at least he's used his position for a cause greater than himself.

  5. thinking about something which I haven't seen posted here yet: does GMTM make a sweet coup to get Fowler by not giving up #8, and in the process providing more rationale for Vesey to sign here? i.e., Vesey and his camp sees & buys into GMTM making the necessary moves to get us off the scheid ?

    schneid .... fixed

  6. I did not get to watch, was GMTM asked about any efforts to go after Harvard's Hobey Baker winner, Jimmy Vesey ? I found a YouTube clip of him taking over a game against my alma mater by scoring a hat trick in the 3rd period for a 3-1 win. Pretty damn impressive, and he has a Yeichel connection.

  7. But you're okay with cutting the dates for the purpose of making someone look better? That doesn't make any sense.

I'm going to assume that part of getting Kasdorf to sign was that he'd get a start at some point.

If true, all the more reason to start him tomorrow at a roadie instead of the home finale (disguised as Fan Asphixiation night)

  8. Pretty weak by lehner there, but mcdavid owned buffalo tonight

Weak effort indeed by Lehner on the GWG, but I can't say McD "owned" Buffalo tonight. He scored on a backhand where Lehner goes down and overcommits way too early, after a giveaway, then scores in OT on a garbage seeing-eye backhand.

Yes, if I'm Eichel I am pissed too, That had to have been at least the 3rd time in recent memory he came close to a GWG in OT.

  9. Yes his goal calls are terrible in my opinion. And no that's not the point to RJ's calls. His may be simple but they have a sense of spontaneity that match the moment. And to compare where mama hides the cookies or someone call the cops to who needs batman when you have robin or big heart sam heart for their supposed endearing terribleness is pretty off. (the latter wasn't so awful but the play didn't warrant it. sam went to the net but was mostly untouched and flipped the puck over the glove.)

The two issues with Dunleavy's calls are that they mostly consist of bad, unfunny puns and these bad, unfunny puns often seem overplanned and unnatural. It's all a bit awkward.

Obviously, this is my opinion. I'm just surprised people enjoy it.

I agree Dunleavy is a mixed bag of nuts at this point, and his goal calls can be off-kilter, but I do enjoy "the Eichel Tower".
