The 1 touch passes into space through the neutral zone are awesome. Bylsma is really using our team speed to overwhelm opponents.
great observation
-
- 1) Pysyk: always seems to be in the right position and appears to make all the right decisions
- 2) Eichel: did not know what to expect and his strength/top line speed are nonpareil. Seems like he was born with a hockey gene
- 3) The Sabres passing overall; remember last year when they could execute a 6 foot pass ?
I am already nominating Byslma for coach of the year - no joke
-
When I'm at these games, I can't believe Eichel and the moves he has. I really can't believe he is on our team
this is precisely my mindset in wanting to attend the San Jose game next Sat. I am coming up to NJ for a business trip Thurs and surprising my parents for a weekend visit. I want to to check out the new development downtown and catch the game with Jack as my primary draw.
I am in need of a single ticket, so please PM should anyone need to get rid of one.
Thanks all

I think Girg's pass to Matty Mo was even better than Legwand's to Reinhart. Both guys did a great job corralling them. (I just channeled Rob Ray)
speaking of channeling your inner Rayzor, did anyone catch his great use of Roby's "wounded puma" during the Flyers game, I believe? it was awesome.
-
Winner.
hands down; better than the Carubba Collision
-
I have to be honest - I thought Legwand was a throw-in; I had no idea what we were getting with him. Dude is a solid, savvy, all around vet presence. Sweet pass to Samson for the GWG, though before it happened I was yelling for him to SHOOT
-
Oooo...I like Ullmark's little celebration.
Need more scoring, though.
agreed, but you gotta win the 2-1 games too. All the more impressive that they were down 1-0
-
That's his nickname. Been watching him for years down here in Nashville.
He was the Predators' first ever draft pick (#2 overall back in the day). Been a solid pro for a very long time.
sorry Potato, you obviously know the back story (...and way more than I do).
-
Nice! Great pass by Leggy!!!
agreed....but did you clear that nickname with him? (...or is that was his teammates call him?)

Has any of the local media asked RJ about it? Is it a portmanteau of yikes and Eichel? I thought it was a mistake the first time too, but now it's obvious that it's on purpose.
I agree with your premise = plus I give you props for use of the word "portmanteau" in your post which you have parlayed particularly properly ......
I would have agreed with this...before Yeichel came into existence. To me is so unbelievably bad that not even RJ gets a pass for it. Eichel should be our best forward since LaFontaine, and "well RJ is RJ" doesn't cut it here.
I think the LaFontaine goal call was my personal fave
-
Does anybody think that rj has had a conversation with Eichel about what to call him when he scores? I don't think he would talk to everyone, but maybe the best scorers. Or maybe they contact him. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
NO

The Sabres looked better tonight, making those 5 to 10 foot passes that really get you out of traffic, than I can ever remember. It really is a different team.
you nailed it; the passing, even the short ones, is so noticeably better this season. Night and day

He's Italian?
yeah, even when spelled correctly....geesh, that was a reach 5-OH
it's even the name of a city:

Anyone hear DB during the Blue & Gold piece after the 1st period? ...." we've got some f**cking hockey players here"
:worthy:
-
man these guys are fun to watch
-
someone needs to tell Rayzor that "acrost" is not a word
-
JACKER!
Jacker? not a real good sound, but you can call him whatever you want with goals like that
-
"Yeichel" again. I give up.
It was tough to tell RJ's call with all the crowd noise, but I think I heard a Yeichel in there. RJ can't help himself....
-
What you call soft goals I call defensive lapses. Being a goalie myself, I tend to be more sympathetic. Johnson's largest issue, IMO, is rebound control. But the Sabres D doesn't help much.
I agree to a point on the rebound control; that's what caused the pens 3rd goal. However, in the Philly game he let in an unscreened wrister which tipped the top of his glove. That's a must-save, IMO
