  1. You probably better articulated what I was getting at. We're so focused on what to do once he get the puck, that it tends to look like a pee-wee soccer game when we don't have the puck. There's no structure as to how we are supposed to defend in our zone, so nobody looks like they know who they are supposed to cover or where they're supposed to be.
  2. How in the hell did you stumble upon this? This might be the most random-est thing in the "even randomer thread"
  3. More importantly this practice should be a bag skate or solely focused on defensive coverage IMO. We were a one-way team last night. This line juggling is obnoxious at this point.
  4. I'm with you on this one - I can't really put it on the goalies too much when there are regularly wide open players within 10 ft of the net for tab ins or uncontested shots. I suspect they heard from Phil to be aggressive and focus on the transition/attacking game, and as a result are not at all focused on the defensive end. I see numerous players coasting around in our own zone or not willing to tie up (or even follow) their man when they move to high-danger areas. Last night Jack played like broken controller Ovechkin for most of the time in his own zone. Terrible. I'd like a 2C as much as the next guy, but adding one player is not going to fix the team effort and commitment to defense. Last night was a effort and desire deficiency, not a lack of personnel imo.
  5. Jack is visibly mad in the post game locker room interview. Very short comments - said he was "terrible" tonight
  6. Pfft. 2+ minute shift in OT by Dahlin. And he was still the only one who tried to get back
  7. This. You never know what's going to happen. Cheer to the end. It seems the tank did more damage to the fan psyche that I thought
  8. Agreed. That should have been a 2 on 1 allowing Dahlin to change. Passing to him as he was heading to the bench was dumb. Jack missing the net on a 3 on 1 was dumber. Instant 2 on 0 the other way
  9. He's been playing like this for a year now. People just haven't been paying attention.
  10. Say what you will about this team, but I keep getting invested in the close games. The Sabres are like crack - addicting but bad for you
  11. We'll ignore that Skinner got slashed on his shot attempt. It was Bogo who knocked the stick out of the hands
  12. We seem to default to being too unselfish in the offensive zone. Nobody has the confidence to take the shot - they just defer to thier teammates. Be the hero goddamnit
  13. Well *****. Dahlin lost his man multiple times that shift
  14. This is what I saw too. Other difference was Dahlin at the other point rather than Risto.
  15. To clue you in - Housley said in the post game that Sobotka was out there in overtime because there was a key faceoff on the left dot and that was his specialty.
