  1. Yup, and they're going to have as many three-year plans as the Bills have had. Maybe even more.
  2. I had said earlier (on this thread, I think) that it would take 2 years to wash Darcy's stink off this team. If that's the case, maybe we can have a decent team again in three years.
  3. Sounds like I don't need to watch the DVR tonight. ... Maybe not for the rest of the season, either.
  4. I'm 62. I drink too much, I smoke, my diet sucks and I don't exercise. My days are numbered. I've given up on ever seeing a favorite team of mine ever winning anything.
  5. I think that's quite possible. My sense is that management has thrown in the towel on the season and it just trying to put on a brave face for the public until the season is over. It's not like you can find a GM in the middle of the season. It might not be easy to find a goo GM in the off season either, but I assume the chances are better.
  6. I really doubt it. If the management forced Darcy to fire Ruff, they are not going to trust her to make any trades without their approval. Besides, other than Vanek, who can he realistically offer as trade bait? Pommers? Stafford? Hecht? It really doesn't matter, because there isn't that much talent on this team. It's going to take at least another two years to wash the stink of Darcy off this franchise.
  7. I'm looking at the bright side of this game. Darcy is sitting there sweating bullets. He knows he's on borrowed time and the team he assembled isn't going to bail his pathetic ass out of this jam.
  8. The seats might be empy, but they are paid for. So the Leafs aren't concerned.
  9. Except for the fact that Darcy will pick yet another pantywaist.
  10. Personally, I like Lindy and think he's a good coach. However, enough is enough. This team is mired in years of mediocrity and it's time to give Lindy his walking papers. That said, I also want to see Darcy gone at the end of the season. I lay almost all of this team's problems at her feet. This team will never progress as long as she is in charge of finding and iring the players. I guess what I'm saying is I want a total housecleaning.
  11. I think I've seen this movie before ... and I know how it ends.
  12. The three words from RJ that make me cringe: "but not out!"
  13. Just finished "The Typewriter Is Holy: The Complete, Uncensored History of the Beat Generation " Now I'm working on, "The War of 1812" by J.C.A. Stagg. Next up: "Why I Am a Catholic", by Gary Wills

    Commander Cody

Commander Cody (the real Commmander Cody) is going to be at the Sportsmen's Tavern in Buffalo on Feb 17. If you're within driving distance, get yourself a ticket and catch the show. The Commander is F*****G awesome. His show is guaranteed to be 1,000 times better than anything the Sabres can do this season.
  15. I'll quit "bitching" when you learn how to spell "innoccuos." I'll even give you a big fat clue, It's spelled: innocuous.
  16. I'm glad you love hockey and watch it "all year long." That's quite a feat. Yes, I know about smegma, and it has nothing to do with sexual preference, it's because I have an education and know about a lot of things, dingleberry breath. However, I find it interesting that you know about retracting the skin! So maybe we can talk about YOUR knowledge base someday As for your "innoccuos" comment (go to dictionary.com to see how that is spelled), I made no reference to Darcy or Lindy. So you may have an agenda, but your reading comprehension skills are lacking: Sorry if you thought I said DR and LR had a clue. Read my comment again. If that's not possible, maybe you can have someone read it to you, and explain what it means. Finally, I have a real job and the price of Center Ice is a drop in the bucket. I just don't like paying for something that isn't worth the cost. That's why I left WNY.
  17. That's the problem, smegma boy. I buy Center Ice because of the Sabres -- and I end up watching other teams because the Sabres aren't worth watching. I can find hockey on TV without wasting money on Center Ice. That defeats the purpose of wanting to watch a specific team. And the OP's question was are the "Sabres" worth watching. I said no.The question wasn't did I think that Darcy or Lindy had a clue.
  18. That's why the Sabres need to fire Darcy. That way they can hire a GM who isn't afraid to upset the apple cart.
  19. In response to the OP's question: NO. And I'm sorry I paid for Center Ice this season.
  20. I hope Darcy's comments mean that she doesn't know that she's the one who is going to get pushed off the Skyway. I find it interesting that Darcy referred to the current trade market as "soft." That's the way she likes his players, so he should be in hog heaven.
