  2. a big name trade other than Byram? Please do speculate ......names?

  4. Not with a bang but a whimper
  5. At this point I would take anyone of the following for Byram: 1. Quinton Byfield 2. Dawson Mercer 3. Dmitri Voronkov 4. Jordan Kyrou 5. Jason Robertson Yet knowing Kevyn Adams none of them are coming here.
  6. Probably could have done it for our extra fourth The analytics team likes him, something about his usage in Utah
  7. What am I expecting?
  8. Feebleness because KA. I think he re-signs Byrum for 2 years to pair with Dahls. And frankly I hope he does because I have zero confidence he can do a Byrum deal and make the team better short or long-term. I think he adds a 3rd line, relatively inexpensive forward in FA that he believes can move into a top-6 role. (There's that flawed hope as a strategy thing again). I think he adds a goalie that's no better than what he has if he can't coax another season out of Reimer. I think he doesn't come close to spending to the cap again this season. I'm basing this on the 5-year history of KA as GM of this team. Not endorsing the above (other than possibly the first point).
  9. Toronto
  10. I accept your position on this. I wouldn’t accept a GM with the same position. You haven’t spent much time around a sales organization, have you? In sales-speak Mitch Marner is a ***** whale. This opportunity is an organization changing opportunity. Can set an organizations path for a decade. Or more. Change culture. Change outside perceptions. Opportunity’s like Marner the Whale are the reason the phrase “don’t take no for an answer “ exists. You prioritize opportunities like Marner because they are true game changing opportunities. You develop an entire sales tactic around whales like this. You hire senior advisors and coaches that are the most competitive person you have ever met for opportunities like this. And if you you look in the mirror and think “she is too pretty, and gets too much attention to dance with me”, then you sick your senior advisor and the most competitive man you have ever met on the job. As our lord and savior Wayne Gretzky once said, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. I know you agree that KA is not good enough for the GM job, so stop making excuses for the things he can’t get done for this team.
  11. Give me any ol stiff , we can lose with anyone..
  12. as much as I am been negative about this team (for good reason), there absolutely will be a big name trade. The only thing I worry is that it is going to be the wrong one, and Buffalo will pay dearly again down the road.
  13. Sure, but would be more believable if he wasn't a RW. Tage, Tuch are you top 2 RWers. Granted you could move Tage back to center and Kulich to LW but that's a lot of moving for him and Tage is betetr at RW and Kulich at center
  14. Realistically what would we have to give up? I would hate if it was one of our better prospects line Henlius or Östlund. Someone like Rosen might not be enough. But I don’t think Rusty is that good. I think he just got to clean up a lot of Crosby’s chances.
  15. Really great color FINN - spotrac has Granlund's next contract predicted at 2/$9.75 million, so figured 2/$12million could get him. I'd even go 3/$18million. His last contract was 4/$20million. Really seems like Zucker Pt 2 opportunity here and we desperately need a LW (and he holds his own at C too). I wouldn't be shocked at all if we pursue him. I also wouldn;t be surprised if he wants to be out west or down south
  16. Ekblad took a pay cut and re-signs with the Panthers for 8 years.
  17. Is it possible the Timmins trade was half a deal? As in Pit wanted the pick, but couldn't move Rust until tomorrow? So there's a Rust for ??? coming soon that would make that deal make a little more sense?
  18. I think they will sign a UFA veteran defender. Ceci is my guess.
  19. Perbix, Ryan Lindgren and Nate Schmidt are veteran LHDs that I could see the Sabres kicking tires on if they move Byram. Brandan Tanev in the hard-to-play-against forward category? Edit: correction, Perbix is a righty.
  20. I like Granlund, he has heart and soul and he is a professional. He has been a very good mentor for the young Sharks players, Zetterlund talked very nice of him. He had a slump while he was in Pittsburgh that is often mentioned, what is not mentioned is that he had a divorce at the same time with kids involved. I would love to get him to the Sabres on a shorter deal, unfortunately that is not going to happen, my guess is a longer team friendly contract on a place with palmtrees, where it is nice and warm when the kids come to visit. Maccelli can be an entertaining player, he is also good on the PP. I still don't think he is a player we need, there was a reason why he was a healthy scratch later last season. Very interesting that Toronto choose him.
  21. Only willing to sign a pre-trade extension with 1 specific team. That's fine and well within the player's rights. You can still trade the player to that team, but the return might not be as much.
  22. Doesn’t Parayko have a NMC?
  23. Unless Zito (who should be our GM) has plans to sign Ehlers, no GM is going to be able to do this and an Ekblad signing in FLA is imminent. I'd be shocked of Ehlers signed with Buffalo - rumor has it, he was willing to be traded to BUF reently but wasn't interested n extending. Why would he be interested now?
  24. Can't target/sign a d until you trade Byram; otherwise you lose even more leverage. I would target Granlund (2/$12m) or Ehlers (6/$50m). Granlund is more likley due to term of contract
