Yea... sure he could. "According to AFP Analytics’ offseason contract projections, Byram is worth roughly $5.2 million on a one-year contract. That’s a useful starting point for estimating his award." https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6477038/2025/07/06/bowen-byram-sabres-salary-arbitration/ A couple days in UFA is what? 85% of all unrestricted free agents gone.
-
100% agree. Keeping Byram now, gives them more time to see if Quinn or Rosen can step up and fill a role in the top 9 im optimistic about Quinn still Play Byram next to Dahlin, his numbers will look great and drive up his trade value. if Quinn doesn't rebound , then you will have a market for Byram
-
What part of signing Byram is funny?
-
Does he have a NTC? If so, why waste any brain cells even dreaming about?
-
Byram. Doesn't he want Dahlin's role?
-
Hindered him by a couple days, most of which are holidays. And he was proactive by moving on, leaving the Blues holding their member.
-
Yup, “given the circumstances” Tattoo it to his forehead
-
3 game lead in Al east
-
8 in a row now!
-
Ftr, I think Adams picking arbitration and removing an offer sheet, while also setting a deadline basically, is smart.
-
Didn't you just say "Waiting for the Byram saga to end may have hindered getting one of the remaining free agent forwards signed"? Make up your mind. No he won't. Also, man, you wanna talk about reading takes again... see what I just quoted.
-
Again, what is with this self-imposed deadline on moves? If it happened last week instead of this week, what changes?
-
As long as you keep scoring with promo I know I don’t need to respond (but in seriousness I’ve explained it)
-
Byram could get $9MM/2 years. That leaves what? $3MM? Go read your take again. Could still happen.
-
It’s the Byram summer What else could Kevyn Adams have even done? Maybe after I make this argument successfully for 5 more years it’ll catch on
-
Not what I'm saying. I'm good with arbitration but this could have been sorted out sooner. No. Like trading prospects for a legit top 6 player
-
Like trading draft picks?
-
If a guy with 12 million in cap space can't sign a mid level ufa because Bo Byram, he's ***** at his job.
-
Just making sure I’m clear, you’re saying Adams should take the best trade offer that’s on the table right now instead of trying to use the arbitration deadline to set up a pressure point in an attempt to squeeze out something better. This not about Adams, it’s about what you think is the proper course of action.
-
Carry on.
-
He thinks 1 step at a time. We're on the Byram step now.
-
Like holy crap guys he’s a terrible GM this shouldn’t have to be litigated every time: he’s doing this poorly He’s going to spend the summer on this charade cause he has no ability to think about anything else and then the team will be bad Oh, spoiler - - - they aren’t going to get a good trade, the next GM (if we ever get one) will be left with an asset that likely walks or gets little return, the Byram we have is still only an ok player that we failed to capitalize on at his highest bidding war value and only represents a reasonable course forward by being signed if improvements are made elsewhere and that’s not happening cause Adams is only capable of focusing his available brain cells on this
-
Lol nonsense, or Adams is more incompetent than I thought.
-
There’s been plenty of opportunity to take a haul of futures for Byram and parlay that into improvement @LGR4GMalways hits on it when he says Adam’s has no imagination Wow The timing lol
