Recommended Posts

January 9, 1972

Two days after suffering a massive heart attack at his office in Memorial Auditorium, Sabres' coach and GM Punch Imlach is thinking about his team. Was that when Joe Crozier took over as coach and Punch relegated himself to strictly GM or had that already occurred? Without looking that seems about right - wasn't Punch behind our bench for about 1 1/2 seasons?
