Mark Recchi, who was traded at the deadline, was one point back of Gonchar. John LeClair yada yada yada. Gonchar and Ryan Whitney had the most ice time per game among defensemen. Mario Lemieux played 26 games before retiring for good in the midst of more health problems, an irregular heartbeat.
