The Sabres and Caps had the best record vs. the West this season -- 10-5-3. There are only TWO Western Conference teams that did not have a winning record vs. the East. A hot Ottawa team in the playoffs might actually help the Sabres. They could slow down and potentially knock off Pitt/NJ in the first round and Washington in the second.
