Been away from the board for a couple of weeks, looks like I missed the whole fiasco that arose when my lower seeded team (Calvin's Knughts) invited trade proposals with any higher seeded team. I've read your opinions and would like to explain my reasoning.
1) Trades in fantasy non-keeper leagues are rarely as exciting as they get in real life around the trade deadline when teams are looking to beef up for the run to the Cup. By inviting all the teams to come up with their best trade packages, I was attempting to create some excitement and genuinely allow teams that are in the playoffs to better their rosters.
2) That being said, I did reject a couple of 'way-out-there' trade offers and only pulled the trigger on the ones that came my way that were relatively in the same ballpark according to the Yahoo rankings provided.
Of the two deadline deals I made:
Steve Ott (Dal - C,LW) & Derek Stepan (NYR - C) given up for P.A. Parenteau (NYI - RW) & Matt Read (Phi - C,RW)
Patrick Sharp (Chi - C,LW,RW), Wayne Simmonds (Phi - RW), Brent Burns (SJ - D) given up for Ryane Clowe (SJ - LW,RW), Brad Marchand (Bos - C,LW), Martin Erat (Nsh - RW)
Both deals were approved by the Commish and put up for review by all members. I apologize if any of the teams that did make the playoffs feel if I have slighted them or put them at an unfair disadvantage. Good luck to all.
