Notes on the NHL

1. In a stunning development, the Los Angeles Kings have caught the San Jose Sharks in the standings. They sure have done that very quietly.

2. Washington leads all teams with 118 GF.

3. There doesn't appear to be any super team in the NHL this year. All six division leaders are in the 40-46 range for points.

4. Three of the six division's have two team tied for the division point-wise (NJ-PIT, LAK-SJS, CGF-COL)

5. Carolina has won just seven games.

6. Philly 2-8 in last 10. With all the talent they have, that record is shocking, Emery or no Emery..

7. Toronto is coming on with a 7-3 record over their last 10.

8. The Northeast has four teams in the eight playoff slots at the 1/3 mark of the season.

9. Detroit is still on the outside of the top eight slots. They are sneaking up though sitting in the nine slot.

10. NJ leads the NHL with most wns at 22.

11. Montreal and Nashville have more GAA than GF but have won enough to hold a playoff slot.

LA and Phoenix in the playoffs right now?? Detroit and Vancouver out?

Sabres one of the lowest goals against in the NHL? New Jersey actually having an offense to go along with their trap?

What is the NHL coming to this year??
