The Sabres acquire the final member of their future French Connection line when they send Eddie Shack to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Rene Robert.

 

March 4, 2000

Olli Jokinen scores on a penalty shot against Dominik Hasek, but Miroslav Satan fails on another against the Islanders' Kevin Weekes as the Sabres lose on Long Island, 4-2.

I loved Eddie Shack during his short stay with the Sabres, but you talk about a trade that had a major impact on the Sabres franchise for many years. WOW!!!

 

 

 

Eddie was one of my original favorites, but this trade may have had more of an impact than the 3/3 rights to Lariviere for Desjardins
