The EC has 2 teams with 89 or better points. From this look alone, it seems like the WC is far better.. Corp000085 Posted March 17, 2007 Report Share Posted March 17, 2007 you can state that the western conference teams are better because they have a few teams at the top while the EC has 2 teams... however, you can state that the EC is better from top to bottom, while the WC teams at the top pad their stats with the crap teams at the bottom... The EC is better from top to bottom... with that said, the sabres are within one point of the presidents trophy and hold a tiebreaker advantage against the preds and the red wings based on head to head record. New jersey right now holds the tie breaker against the sabres, so the top spot overall is still up in the air, but to your original point, the EC is way better from top to bottom. The EC has 2 teams with 89 or better points. Someone has to win those games out there. I'll give SJ,Van,CGY,MIN,DET respect IMO, thats it. Mostly because of their fans. EC has more competition. I doubt Nashville & Detroit would have as many points if they played in the North East Division. 24 games against Chicago, Columbus and St Louis would make any teams point total fatter.
