  1. I really like this. A center. Finally. I was completely underwhelmed by Kassian. And...two new names to be misspelled here.
  2. Well, every few years, you'll see a team purge its top two centers and get nothing in return for them...but that's old news.
  3. I guess it is the classic "which came first" question. Is it the coach? Is it the players? Is it something else such as injuries? I honestly don't know. If I just spent a gazzilion dollars on a team and dressing room and am in it for the long haul, I am taking Chz's approach. Get healthy (one can hope). See the results. And if it still isn't performing then, I am getting a new hockey guy in as GM to figure it out for me.
  4. In my book, the single, biggest homer I have ever heard. In any sport. And that is saying something because I have to listen to "Coatsie" here in Philadelphia.
  5. The truly sad thing is the only reason another team would be willing to trade for a veteran Sabre forward other than Vanek, and possibly Pominville, is the old, "..maybe all they need is a change of scenery..." as opposed to thinking they were getting a stud.
  6. Johnson is a 25 year old kid out of a small college program. He's never played for a winning pro team and was probably thrown into the #1 role too early. He put up great numbers in the critical third year and is putting up very good numbers this year despite a nagging injury all season. Past regimes would look for a reason to ship him out of Buffalo next year. I am hoping that THIS front office does the right thing; lock him up with a contract and get a veteran presence that can calm him down. How many times have we had to watch talent leave town and create yet another hole to try to patch?
  7. I was expecting a Jets blowout and am happy the Bills competed and battled today. The team is simply not deep or talented enough to weather these injuries. Incredibly inept drafting for over a decade cannot be fixed in a year or two. I like Chan and Nix and think the team is headed in the right direction.
  8. Just sad. All positives from earlier this season is now wiped out. Most bad teams have at least one thing to build off of; coaching, a unit on the D or the O. I see no such unit here. Honestly, can you pick the single biggest need on this team to change, draft or target?
  9. Fair enough. But they played very well in the previous seven. Why is the one they lost badly the one that makes up your mind about them? Just trying to understand this rationale.
  10. Not being combative, but, if the season is over because they lost to the Jets in their first bad game of the year, why bother watching the Dallas game? Still very much in the mix...
  11. Don't bail yet. If you told me in August their first klunker of the season would be at the mid-point, I'd of thought you were nuts. Giants D just giving up the go-ahead TD to Brady with a minute left hurts though. Come on Eli...
  12. Many good choices. Exposing my 80's background, I do like Crue's "Kickstart" but think the lyrics to Pat Benatar's "All Fired Up" work and can be cranked. But, as mentioned, Van Halen and specifically "On Fire" can just be absolutely blasted and crank up ANYone and would be my choice.
  13. Don't know about anyone else, but I was thinking of all kinds of horrificly painful ways for the Pats to end up winning when they ruled Jackson out at the one and wiped out the TD...come to think of it, after last week, should I wait ten minutes prior to celebrating? Let's Go Buffalo!
  14. Not having second round draft picks due to Darcy's "wheeling and dealing" on trade deadline day.
