March is around the corner and this team I decided to use a former player of the Sabres. Steve Montador is on the WP this month. Always loved him as a player when he was here and admired his work ethic. Good way to keep him in our memories. http://www.pixelpuncher.de/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/wp_sabres_15_03.jpg All wallpapers I made (almost) can be found here: http://www.pixelpuncher.de/sabreshockeyville/

The Maple Leafs head into Buffalo for a match up of division rivals. Toronto can score, currently at 4th overall in the league, but they're middle of the pack at 13th in goals allowed. ###### the Leafs, go Buffalo.

OT: Dr. Jack Ramsay dead at 89. http://espn.go.com/n...-dr-jack-ramsay Though I am no longer a professional basketball fan because of the selfishness that currently makes up the way it is played, I still remember fondly the old Buffalo Braves with Bob McAdoo, Ernie D, Randy, Randy Smith , Gar Heard, Tom McMillen, Jim McMillan, Adrien Dantley, Moses Malone and others. We use to collect Milk Carton coupons and if you got about 150? you could get free tickets in the nose bleeds. We would go to 2 or 3 games a year based on the milk we drank. I remember Randy Smith dunking, taking off from the foul line. RIP Dr. Jack. We loved your short time in Buffalo until John Y. Brown did his bad thing and destroyed the team and moved it.

I'm starting this... because I can. I'm here, now, because it's not about anything other than our hometown hockey team playing a hockey game. I'm doing this because no one else wants to do it. You can hate where this team is right now. You can turn in your fan card. You can bitch and moan about the glory years (whenever they were). You can place blame at anyone's door step. You can do all of that and it doesn't change things. YOU. You, are a Buffalo Sabres fan. You're going to get through this, again. You aren't going to like it. You don't have to like it. No one, really, likes it. You have people around you who want to look at it differently than you do. You'll want to hate them for how they look at it. You're going to be so angry with this team that you'll resort to attacking those who feel different about the situation. You won't do it because you hate them, you'll do it because you can't hate the Sabres. You'll do it because you can't post on this forum and know it will be read by someone in the organization. You'll wish so hard that they care, but the reality is that they don't. They don't care about a handful of people who want to hate on them for the situation they are in at this moment. You'll hate them even more for that. You'll try and blame the lady behind the register who didn't smile enough at you for the way the season has gone. You'll want to punch an usher in the face for asking you if you need assistance. You might hold back, you might only resort to saying, "No, the TEAM needs help, why not do something there! Mr. Rogers!" You'll lash out at anyone... they won't deserve it.. but they'll understand. They will understand because they are you, too. The bottom line is that we are Sabres fans. We'll show up, whether we want to or not. We'll hope for the best, while expecting the worst. We'll sit through the excruciating pain and in the end we'll swear a little more, we'll hate some more, and we'll continue on. We'll get through this though. Even if you can't see it, I can. I'm telling you that, YOU. WILL. GET. THROUGH. THIS! It won't be easy, but it will happen. Life has too much negativity in it to add more negativity to an already negative season. If you were counting there, and I know some of you were, that was 3 negatives thus re-instating the negativity. However, the negativity is really aimed at the negativity of others and in that case it's only two negativities and I am trying to make it a positive for you. Life has too much of it. It's everywhere. We are attacking each other over even dumber things than who plays wing on Jack Eichel's line. Think about that. We are engaging in hatred toward our fellow human beings over things MORE inconsequential than if Nathan Beaulieu is playing. We can control this. It's a matter of perspective. Three years ago we were lamenting that the Sabres did not win the lottery. Edmonton, those lucky SOBs, won the lottery. They got their savior (saviour?). Where are they now? They are a franchise who, despite all the breaks when it comes to draft position, still suck. Bad. You feel bad about Okposo, they have Lucic. They wish they had Lehner in net. They suck. The Senators are a franchise in more disarray than Wal-mart shelves on Black Friday. I could go on, but the point is not to find who is worse off. The point is to realize things can always be worse. This team, is our team. If it wasn't we wouldn't be here. If it's not your team, or you feel like you need to walk away, leave your card at the door. This team plays the Lightning tonight. It doesn't matter even the slightest iota on where the Sabres finish in the standings. They will be dead last. They will be the first team to finish 31st in the league. You'll hold onto that like a Linus loves his blanket. In two years, finishing 31st will only be 2nd worst in the league and you won't have to worry about it because your team is in the playoffs. Things have to start looking up at some point. Why not make tonight the night they look up? It's not about the result of this game. It's about knowing that somewhere, beyond the horizon, where you can't yet see, there are unicorns, rainbows, and kittens. It's about knowing that the storm cloud above your head was only there because you put it there. You'll realize it was never that bad. It might not have been that good... but it was never that bad. And with that... Let's Go Buffalo!

Well, well, well. What do we have here, eh? *ahem* YYYYOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRR BUFFALO SABRES are coming into Dallas tonight to kick some names and take some ass as they take on the Dallas Stars in a battle of what it was and what it never should be. As Buffalo vaults themselves up into the world, the Stars slowly crumble as a season of promise has been derailed by major roster issues and a sad, sad Lindy Ruff So, how are ya boys doing you ask? Buffalo strolls into Dallas looking cooler than John Wayne and more badass than Clint Eastwood as they've reeled off 3, count'em 3, OT wins in a row against some of the best teams in the entire league. Well, actually at that stress level maybe they're more Steve Buscemi meets Bill Kilgore. Either way, the Sabres are 4-0-1 in their last 5, 6-3-1 in their last 10, and are only 5 points out of a WC spot with 2 games in hand. It's been a nice, and necessary run the Sabres have went on. Now good teams continue that by not focusing on what they've done, but what they need to do And what do they need to do? They need to beat a bad Dallas Stars team It's been a ruff, ruff season for the Stars this year around. The team who frequently dominated the West over the last few years has some major issues this season. A defense that lost Goligoski and traded for Russel has been poor at best, Seguin has been often out with injury, Benn is playing more like Girgensons than he is an Art Ross winner, and the goalie situation, which Nill sunk millions into, is still terrible. The Stars are, coincidentally, coming off 2 consecutive OT losses, most recently a 3-2 OT loss against Minnesota on Tuesday night. Dallas is 3-5-2 in their last 10, but are 12-7-6 at home this season. The last time these two teams played Tyler Ennis enjoyed his return as on his first shift he made it 1-0 Buffalo with a wicked wrister as the Sabres would go on to win comfortably 4-1 and dominate the game Game Preview Wednesday Practice Report All Stats: Dallas @ Buffalo, 4-1 win Buffalo: Forwards: 63 Tyler Ennis - 90 Ryan O'Reilly - 21 Kyle Okposo 82 Marcus Foligno - 15 Jack Eichel - 23 Sam Reinhart 9 Evander Kane - 28 Zemgus Girgensons - 12 Brian Gionta 44 Nicolas Deslauriers / 48 William Carrier - 19 Cal O'Reilly - 26 Matt Moulson Defense: 77 Dmitry Kulikov - 55 Rasmus Ristolainen 47 Zach Bogosian - 6 Cody Franson 41 Justin Falk - 38 Taylor Fedun 34 Casey Nelson Goalies: 40 Robin Lehner 31 Anders Nilsson

Buffalo will continue their Florida road trip in taking on the defending Eastern Conference champs in the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday night. Buffalo looks to right the ship after coming off a disappointing 3-2 loss against the Panthers Thursday night, and the Lightning are coming off of two consecutive losses. Tampa beat Buffalo 4-1 in Buffalo for their first match-up of the season Tampa will be without Victor Hedman due to injury (AHL call-up Slater Koekkoek or Dan Boyle are expected to replace him) and Nikita Nesterov from suspension. Alex Killorn should be back for Tampa though, and Bishop will be in net The Sabres will try some new line combinations, with Sam Reinhart practicing on the 1st line with Ennis and O'Reilly. Bogosian suffered a setback in practice, and did not practice with the team on Friday Game preview http://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/preview?id=2015020067&navid=sb:preview&intcmpid=sb-preview FRIDAY’S PRACTICE 23 Sam Reinhart – 90 Ryan O’Reilly – 63 Tyler Ennis 9 Evander Kane – 15 Jack Eichel – 12 Brian Gionta 26 Matt Moulson – 28 Zemgus Girgensons – 82 Marcus Foligno 44 Nicolas Deslauriers – 22 Johan Larsson/17 David Legwand – 88 Jamie McGinn Defensemen: 4 Josh Gorges, 55 Rasmus Ristolainen, 29 Jake McCabe, 3 Mark Pysyk, 6 Mike Weber, 46 Cody Franson, 25 Carlo Colaiacovo 31 Chad Johnson 50 Nathan Lieuwen http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=783545&navid=DL|BUF|home Oh yeah, and these two teams don't like each other

The Sabres embark on their first road trip of the season this year, heading down to Florida to take on the Florida Panthers tonight and the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday night. The Sabres will face a Panthers team that has come swinging out of the gates. Stalwart goaltender Luongo and his partner Montoya have combined .968 sv % to start the season, only allowing 3 goals so far. The Panthers and the Sabres will be looking to build off impressive wins against the Hurricanes and Blue Jackets. Luongo is expected to start tonight The Panthers went 4-0-1 vs Buffalo last year, although that might be a team's worst record against us last year for all we know Gionta is expected to make his season debut. Here's the game preview http://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/en/preview?id=2015020055&navid=sb:preview&intcmpid=sb-preview If the Sabres hope to make the playoffs this season, the Panthers are a good measuring stick

I mean, we should be appreciated, right? We watch every single one of these games, and ###### post on a forum long enough where 10/10 doctors don't recommend; livers and fingers simply can't take such constant constraints. But God dammit, we, the fans, deserve our own shindig. And, folks, this is our last pity party. For the last 5 years, Fan Appreciation Day is a day where this organization apologies for acting like a bunch of jamboys trying following Chevy Chase at the Augusta National. We sit there, we accept it, we acknowledge good times are ahead. Well, ###### your wait, and mine, because they're here. Your Buffalo Sabres are 19-13-7 in their last 39 games, and 7-2-2 in their last 11. Winners of 3 straight, their best streak since November, the Sabres have worked hard to climb out of the cellar of the NHL and escape the lame, deformed league experiment chained in rusty shackles to the wall that is the NHL's Edmonton Oilers. It's seems like only yesterday that some were lamenting the Sabres perpetual demise; our inevitable turmoil seemed just that, inevitable. Doomed to stir in our own filth in that basement with the 5 inbred sons of the Edmonton Oilers, and a crying Connor McDavid in the corner whispering prayers to himself as Robin Williams yells 'IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT', some saw no escape for this team. Yet, AND YET, where are we now, I ask you? We climb, higher and higher, out of our proverbial cave molded by Plato, with Play-Doh, and we look above our wall and see the future. It's here, guys. Quit wishing for draft picks, and thinking it will never end. It's ended Meanwhile, the Jackets suck. Sorry, Columbus, that's just the truth. Though, Saad has 29 goals on the year, and they do have the better Foligno. Still, if Torts doesn't berate anyone into demanding a trade or just pure misery, I'll eat my socks. Columbus is 4-6-0 in their last 10, and are coming off a 5-1 win at Toronto on Wednesday. Game Preview All Stats: Columbus @ Buffalo (4-2 win) Buffalo @ Columbus (4-0 win) Thursday Practice Report Buffalo Lines: Experiments: ZEMGUS GIRGENSONS - RYAN O'REILLY - SCHNEIDER NICOLAS DESLAURIERS - JACK EICHEL - SAM REINHART MARCUS FOLIGNO - JOHAN LARSSON - BRIAN GIONTA MATT MOULSON - DAVID LEGWAND - RODRIGUES One of these is our 2nd leading scorer in our last 24 games: JOSH GORGES - RASMUS RISTOLAINEN JAKE MCCABE - ZACH BOGOSIAN MARK PYSYK - CASEY NELSON

Hello, my baby Hello, my honey Hello, my ragtime gal Give me some goals on fire Baby, my pants are tighter If you refuse me It will abuse me Give this dog a bone Oh baby, tune your tone And bring this season home Yoooouuuuurrrrrr Buffalo Sabres, much like the monster that emerges from a man's chest after dicey space-diner food (change your meals to the soup, folks), your Buffalo Sabres will look to break through the rib cages holding these Rags together, and show the NHL world that yes, we are indeed headed for a 26 point improvement over last season. Coming off a huge win against the Toronto Maple Laughs, the Sabres look to continue their winning ways against a very formidable Rangers team. The Sabres win on Thursday night saw Johan Larsson and COR combine for 4 goals, 2 each, and Kadri being a bigger bitch than Frodo on Mt.Doom. Jack Eichel will look to get a little more touch in his game, and our defense still has....na ###### it, they know they blow The Rangers are 4-3-3 in their last 10, and are coming off a 4-3 loss in Carolina on Thursday. Well, folks, we don't have much left to go, but we have a lot more to play for. This season ain't over yet, and we still have 5 more games left for our rookies to learn, our goalies to get hurt, and at least one more star forward to get arrested. Damn, just typing that I feel like I should have done it in Spanish, and someone should have woken up from a coma. So, grab a beer, strap on your helmets, take off your pants, and eat enough chicken wings for the Surgeon General to ###### off, because you only get to do this 5 more times, and tonight, of all nights, will be the best to watch. The Sabres are coming off a roller coaster of emotions on Tuesday night, one that saw each fan rotate from 6 to midnight more often than Rob Lowe in Paris. Up 3, down 1, tied, breakaways...madness I tell you! It was all madness! And in the midst of it all, we say the hatred for DD finally come to a roiling bubble. I haven't seen line mismanagement like that since Rick James decided Studio 54 wouldn't kick him out. In the end, we learned, with finality, how ###### abysmal our defense is, and how much it truly sucks watching 12c3 of line combinations. (Come on, someone's gotta get that. First one to tell me that number gets candy. I'm not even sure it's the right way to compute that) The Leafs? Well, ###### these guys. Take'm outside and beat'm with a flip flop; tar and feather them with syrup and wasted playoff predictions. You know what's more depressing than the Maple Leafs? Nothing, that's what. Remember this? Anyways, the Leafs, with their 'holier than thou' attitude, have done a complete 180 and are firmly entrenched in a tank. A tank, by the way, which isn't working. Why? Because even when it comes to losing, the Leafs can't win. The Leafs are being out-tanked by the Carrion Heavyweight Edmonton Oilers though; rumors are McDavid no longer drives to the arena, but walks a strange route that takes him over a bridge everyday. The Leafs are 6-4-0 in their last 10, and are coming off a 5-2 win in Florida Game Preview Buffalo Lines: Anyone's Guess: ZEMGUS GIRGENSONS - RYAN O'REILLY - HUDSON FASCHING NICOLAS DESLAURIERS - JACK EICHEL - SAM REINHART MARCUS FOLIGNO - JOHAN LARSSON - BRIAN GIONTA CAL O'REILLY - DAVID LEGWAND - MATT MOULSON Soon To Be Unemployed: JOSH GORGES - RASMUS RISTOLAINEN JAKE MCCABE - ZACH BOGOSIAN MARK PYSYK - CASEY NELSON

Sharpen your pitch forks, grab your torches, and bitch slap the fan next to you, because your Buffalo Sabres are marching down to North Carolina for some pillaging and baby eating. Your Mongol hoard will lay siege to the Hurricanes tonight after coming an insulting defeat at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Minus Jack Eichel, who was too busy playing a game of 'poop or fart' to play any other games, and hitting the end of a stretch in which they played 3 games in 4 nights, including back-to-backs, the Sabres were pretty much dominated in every facet, and looked nothing like the ravaging hoard of plague wielding, baby eating lunatics that will salt the earth that is the PatheticNutsackCanes Arena tonight. The Hurricanes look more like a rainstorm than anything remotely resembling terrifying. Sitting at 76 points, Rainstorm Carolina is in the perfect position to both a) get a draft pick and b) miss the playoffs. Congrats, Carolina, on treading water just long enough to ensure you lose all 5 of your fans. Carolina has a 3-3-4 record in their last 10, and is currently coming off a 3-2 OT loss in Minnesota on Saturday. Look for Johnson vs Ward. *Ahem* Yooooouuuuuuurrrrrrr Buuuuuffffffaaallllloooooooo Saaaabbbrrreesssss are reaaadddyyyy tooooo rumble!!!!! We're back in black baby, and ready for action. We've got ROR back, Jack Eichel scoring likes it's his ###### job (which it is), a wizard in Samson Reinhart on his wing, and Captain Insano in net. We. Are. Ready. To Rolllllllll!!!!. Your Buffalo Sabres are currently coming off a 3-2 OT loss, one in which punctuating just how salty the leagues mouth tastes when it comes to the Montreal Canadians, and are looking to come back with a statement win tonight against the divisional rival Ottawa Senators. The loss, however many 'bullshits' were involved, did indeed see the revival of the Sabres power play as ROR made a b-e-a-utiful sauce pass over to 'Bury One, Give One' (@LTS) Bogosian for a questionable goal to say the least. Still, combining that with a little bit o' rough and tough that the refs stopped in order to save Scrivens from testing the Canadian health care system, the Sabres played a good game, and one they should have one. Look for your boys in blue and gold to come out strong tonight, and ruin the annual playoff push that is the Ottawa Senators attempting to legitimize failing to support the best offensive defenseman since Bobby Orr The Senators? These guys? These guys right here? Well, ###### these guys. Sitting at 74 points, 7 outside of the last playoff spot, Ottawa still thinks they can somehow make it in and lose in the first round yet again. Cue the entire Canadian capital going crazy during the offseason, freaking out that they were 'this close' from a legitimate playoff push. Hey Ottawa, wanna know what you're missing? Sam Reinhart, Jack Eichel, Ryan O'Reilly....yeah, centers. Enjoy your misery and the insane contract you shackled Karlsson to while it lasts. Looking for the dynamic duo of Eich and Samson to continue their excellent play. This should be a hard fought game; the Sabres are in it to win it because the kids are taking the team over while ROR watches. The Hurricanes still have a legit shot at a playoff spot. Here's hoping the Sabres can be spoilers this day. Egg's Hot Player is Daniel Catenacci. If he scores, remember you heard it here first! The word of the day is legs. Help spread the word.
