I like Montour's feisty dispostion today.

It would be nice if it could be somebody else vs. having to rely on Jack or Sam to get it done.

Strong voice, but she needs to sing it the way it is supposed to be be.....sounded more like the star "strangled" banner to me.

Jack + Skinner absolutely yes. Adding Okposo makes it a $25 million line with slow fifth wheel...no thanks.

I miss the Barnaby - May - Ray days. It's always best to have a few guys who can dish it out when the situation calls for it.

So far I'd say the best player in white is Sheary. Everybody else is off so far.

Hard to find a bright spot tonight....more like trying to figure out who did NOT suck as bad as the rest of the bunch this game. Maybe Erod?

D-pairings changed???

Maybe the NYR's are in his head? He's taken a couple of hits already and it's early. Hoping by the end of the game he has a couple of assists to make up for it.

There may be numbers to prove otherwise, but I have it in my head that Henrik Lundqvist always seems to play tough against the Sabres. I hope tonight can prove it is just my imagination and that we can light him up!

My thought is to enjoy them while they are playing well, but then wish them good luck if they do not accept a short-term deal with a modest increase. I would like to see a 4th line with more speed and scoring, as it seems to me that the league style is emphasizing more offense lately.

Something tells me it won't be long before the team is forced to make a change and start a new dynamic....not by trade, but instead by injury. For now, I like keeping both guys unless a really lop-sided trade opportunity presents itself. We'll see!

Meanwhile, back in Chicago....Alex Nylander was a healthy scratch after just two games. Has the bubble already burst with his fresh new start?

Some D-men stuck on the ice too long. McCabe was the one who earlier made the bad soft pass that did not get out of the zone. Really tired of seeing expensive sticks breaking at the most in-opportune times.

He's keeping Rodriguez and Mittelstadt company.

Seems like half the team did not show-up tonight. Maybe the worst games of the season for Sam, Dahlin and Victor. I've seen enough of Mittelstadt to say he definitely needs to go to Rochester.

The best case scenario is to have our own highly skilled players play with an edge and create their own space, not have to have a goon riding shotgun. That said, I would like to see a defense group that can handle big opposing forwards and keep the front of the net clear. Risto has the ability to do that....just don't see it enough.
