  1. Agreed, not only is Rochester thin, but there is very little to be optimistic about from a center or forward standpoint. Cozens yes, but Asplund and Tage are not legit top 6 forwards. Pekar may be interesting, but not realistically top 6. Botterill has stocked the D corps with picks (Johnson, samuelsson, Laaksonen), but somebody please tell me where we have any other forward prospects to get excited about....aside from Cozens? The only way to get bonafide forward talent who can help immediately is via trade and our only commodity is D-prospects and future draft picks. Nobody wants our trash.
  2. Until the last 5 minutes of the game of course....and then all of a sudden we might look decent, score a goal and call it a quality loss that the team will learn from.
  3. Sorry, but Casey is not and will not be a bonafide top 6 forward in this league.
  4. Traveling through western Canada ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a mountain or bounce too close to a moose and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?
  5. Sure why not...they scored even strength, also on the PP, also short-handed.....let's give them an empty netter too so that they can cover all the categories. ?
  6. Thank goodness this is not a home game...if it were, the Sabres should refund the tickets and provide free concessions.
  7. How refreshing to see a PK where a short-handed team is aggressive. Why not try to put pressure on the puck and force the other team to be perfect? Too bad Buffalo has no clue. Sorry, but that's on the coaching!
  8. I just want to see Jack's point scoring streak continue.
  9. On the next Calgary penalty, Buffalo should seriously consider just playing a normal 5 man unit with 3 forwards and 2 D-men. Pathetic, but I rather see them play it like a normal 5 on 5 situation.
  10. There's still a minute left....they can still score on this penalty.....Calgary that is!
  11. I like that WIlson and Ovechkin went after him afterwards.....vs. the Sabres raising their hands to the ref's "Aren't you going to call a penalty" reaction.
  12. Agree. In the seconds leading up to the incident, Cernak was fairly stationary watching Dahlin. As Dahlin moved towards him, Cernak attempted a one-handed poke check with his left hand and missed. Dahlin made his backward pass, but continued advancing towards Cernak's position near the face-off dot. Cernak was waiting for him there and immediately raised his left elbow in the direction of Dahlin's head. To my eye, it looked he intentionally raised his left elbow when he could have easily used his shoulder to take the body instead.
  13. No offense, but seems like a solution in search of a problem.....not that I am exactly crazy about how it is done today.
  14. I learned how to pronounce Calgary from him.....Cal.....gary Seriously though, I miss the ol' "Hockey Hotline" days where he and Brian Blessing used to do post game and take phone calls on the old Empire Sports network.
  15. Why, are they playing Pittsburgh soon? ? Sheary has been noticeable tonight...love his effort...just needs to maybe lookup before pulling the trigger.
  16. I'd like to see Risto camped in front of the goalie on the PP. Seemed like he was effective there before.
  17. Injuries or not (Dahlin), this team has enough talent to score more often on the PP. They are their own worst enemy. Move, put traffic in front and shoot. It should not be that hard.
  18. Have a happy drive back home (Leaf fans)!
  19. Montour not having a good game!
  20. I get a little extra satisfaction seeing that Matthews had a hand in that!!!
  21. Yes...and perhaps one of our best players over the last 5 games as well! Good to see him having some success now.
  22. Lack of effort + Lack of smart decision making = Toronto goal
  23. Shoot Jimmy!!! Sigh!
