Agree! If healthy, then yes VGK is a playoff caliber roster....but Pacioretty (33), Marchessault (31), Pietrangelo (32), Stone (29), McNabb (31), Lehner (30), etc. suggests that VGK may be looking at their own rebuild soon...and hopefully by then our Sabres are playoff contenders.

On a side note, I've been watching the Knights/Pens game tonight. Pen's are up 3 to 2 with about 12 minutes left in the 3rd. Pen's were up 2-0 after one and VGK was very flat. Eichel ends up scoring VGK's first goal from in front of the net and VGK tied it later in the 2nd. 4 goals, 8 assists in 12 games so far. He was on the ice for the Pen's go ahead goal in the 3rd...was a little late covering the Pen's D-man who jumped into the play and scored. He was interviwed between periods, but the VGK broadcast did not bring up the Sabres game last night. Forgot to mention that Max Pacioretti left the game in the second...so VGK is down another scorer...has not returned.

Good point, it has not worked out with finding a partner for Dahlin thus far. Perhaps we need to sign a proven netminder before people might take notice.

Good for him from a money and stability standpoint, however he may still be years away from being in the playoffs.

Regardless of "who" specifically comes to mind. Would the possibility of being partnered with Power somehow be an enticement for attracting talent that would otherwise not have Buffalo on their preferred list?

We get to see the Panthers again...twice in April. Early April is going to be tough....Florida twice, Carolina twice, Tampa, Nashville, St. Louis. I know we're weeks away from that stretch, but it will test the intestinal fortitude of the team (and the fans).

Have to say the Panthers look really good. I would love to see a Florida vs. Colorado Stanley Cup final series....could be fun to watch.

Yes they are...what is kind of scary is that the Panthers may be good for a long time. I don't think they have many high impact UFA's and a number of their key players have reasonable contracts. Barkov is expensive, but worth it. The only bad contract they have is Bobrovsky's.

Not sure I saw the same first period as you did. Yes he got a lot of ice time, but his game looks a little off to me so far...not to mention the bad giveaway. Hopefully he'll get going here in the second.
