lol. I just saw Patton Oswalt last night at the Moontower Comedy Festival. He was AMAZING!
Did he talk about Carvel ice cream cakes? I love me some cookie puss!

For round 2 I went classic white but only issues with the old unis is it never looked gold also mustard yellow to me.
-
I went with the current road edition as the only think I don't like about it is the grey armpit but do like the added grey stripes.

Right so when the hell does he say "I'm disappointed for our fans"
Later in the article they reference it:
“I feel for our fans,” Murray said. “I mean, we went through a tough year, and I think that they were extremely excited about Connor, certainly because he plays in Erie.”Murray reaffirmed his belief that the lottery system is not fair for rebuilding teams, saying the worst team should get the No. 1 pick. The league does not agree, because of clear concerns of teams tanking for draft picks. In fact, the rules are tightening for bottom-feeders with the top three choices selected via lottery starting next year.
“It’s not the disappointment in the player. It’s just the process for me,” Murray said. “... It would be fine with me if they phoned me and told me you didn’t win. But this is what they do. Thankfully it’s a short drive from Buffalo. I’d hate like hell to be flying across the country to take part in it. It’s part of what our league does and it’s created a lot of buzz. So I don’t want to be a buzz-kill on this.”
-
Okay, that is some more context but where and when did he say this?
“If you can pick 1 or 2, you’re going to choose 1,” Murray told reporters in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel after the lottery draw was held next door in the Sportsnet studios. “If you’re going to make a trade and they offer you the best defenseman in the league or the second-best defenseman in the league, you’re going to want the best. Anytime you can get 1 vs. 2 in any walk of life, you’re going to want No. 1. But we came up here with an expectation we’d probably be picking No. 2 and we’re going to deal with it. There’s no issue there.” -
here is the presser

You can search for words within it and I can't find anywhere, where Tim Murray says the word fan or fans. I will keep looking but idk what the context is.
I posted earlier GMTM is disappointed that the Sabres fans won't have a chance to see the best player in the draft on the worst team in the league because of the lottery system. He mentioned how we're in a rebuild process and as the worst team he'd like have seen us get the best player to help this team but we won't get a chance. He mentioned that if you could trade for the best defenseman or second best defenseman in the league all things being equal you'd want the best.
-
What is the context of this quote?
He's upset that we (as fans) won't get the best player in the draft due to the lottery system.

Don't forget Zemgus
Zemgus to me is a borderline 2nd line/3rd liner. I'm not completely sold on him as a top 6 guy.
-
Beyond good to me is Conn Smythe winner. One of the two has to be a natural born killer when it comes to big games. My hope is that both are.
I'm a big Reinhart believer.
-
You seem to keep forgetting Kane. He will fit into that point range.
I don't deny Evander is a key cog in the mix as is Ennis. To me those 4 guys are the cornerstone of the franchise now.

Well, Buffalo loses again. How can anyone say there isn't a sports curse on Buffalo? Somehow, Edmonton wins 4 out of 6 years, and Buffalo has the best percentage and still can't pull it off.
I remember last year on Lottery Day, GMTM intoned...."I want to win something"..... As I said at the time, GMTM best get used to losing if he stays in Buffalo - winning is just not the Buffalo way. Always star-crossed.
It has nothing to do with Buffalo, the lottery is just that
In the previous 20 seasons, the team with the worst record won the lottery a total of 6 times. If we exclude the Crosby lottery, the worst team won 31.6% of the time.http://thehockeywriters.com/the-draft-lottery-a-historical-perspective/

Sam and Jack need to become the players scouts have projected. Sam smart solid all round game with scoring skill who raises the play of of those around him. Jack needs to score and be threat every time hit steps on the ice. If they both do that, the job of putting in the remaining pieces gets a lot easier. They both need to more than just good.
When I say good I am talking above average which to me is a 60-90 point season from both of them.
-
I want more out of Jack. I need more out of Jack.
That said why the hell doesn't SJ rebuild? I know it's because they gave NTC to old guys but damn are they screwed.
Jack isn't going to do it alone. Him and Sam are going to have to be something special together for the rebuild to happen.
Really? I have much higher expectations. Couture is a nice player, but Eich has a higher ceiling which I expect him to reach.
Maybe I'm tempering my expectations as don't want to run the kid out of town if he isn't all world.
-
I would be pissed.
0.76 points per game is nothing to sneeze at nor is a guy that capable of putting close to 30 goals a season.
-
I would say more like the difference between Crosby and Tavares (now Tavares) or Getzlaf or Stamkos or basically another really awesome NHL center that isn't Sid the Kid.
Those are lofty guys to compare him to, I'd be happy if he becomes another Logan Couture.
-
No it really won't happen. The fanbase would seriously lose it. Also I think Murray is going to be aggressive in UFA.
If you look at the list of UFAs it isn't all that great. I could see us making a trade on draft day trade for a veteran.
-
Is it too much to dream that Tim Murray can take a run at Phoenix's #3 pick? Darcy does love himself some Cody Hodgson?
Why would we? I don't think we need Hanifin.
-
My guess is a few of those prior year Edmonton number 1 picks might become available on draft day.
They just gave Yakupov a major deal, to me Hopkins could be movable for a good Dman or Goalie and no, I don't want him as a Sabres fan.
-
But we will
For what?
-
That's okay. We'll get the American and at least McDavid didn't go to someone in our conference. I think Eichel will have a chip on his shoulder and will always have a reason to work harder to prove he should have been number one. Sometimes that isn't a bad thing. Eichel is also bigger and stronger which is important in today's league. This is Buffalo...you knew we'd get the second pick anyway.
What if Edmonton stuns the hockey world and trades the pick? As they really don't need another forward. Doubtful they'd pass on McDavid but you never know.

Michael Peca mulls around ideas of returning to Buffalo to replace Mike Grier. El Crusho for One welcomes the idea since he still has a Peca Jersey
I welcome the idea too, and have my Peca jersey as well.
