You don't win games in the lockeroom.
-
The Sabre's have a glut of defenseman are in desperate need of a top 6 winger and they're not interested in perennial all-star Taylor Hall because he "is not in their long or short term plans"? And people wonder why they haven't made the playoffs in a decade.

Its raining today so I'm not going to hang any Christmas lights outside and my boys don't have any hockey of their own due to a league select camp which my 13yo made but he's day-to-day with a broken big toe that he injured on a stationary bike on Wednesday when his foot got smashed between the pedal and something I don't really understand how it happened anyway they won't let him play in the scrimmages today and tomorrow because he didn't go to the practice last night and if you miss a single session you're disqualified and there is no refund which sucks so long story short I'll watch the Sabres game because there's really nothing else to do thanks for listening.

Larsson back on the tank line where he belongs.

iirc the plan was to give UPL 20-25 games in Cincy before considering a call-up to Roch

i read that as "moist wind".... not a good visual. -
What do you need to see before you're totally bought in?

how about this post? -
Hutton's trade value is nil. Knowing how the Sabres operate, they'll just happily keep on the roster because they don't want to upset him.
-
Also in their last 4... Auston Matthews has 0 goals, 1 assist and is a -7.

They should be able to score some goals. -
Larsson would've been a decent 4th liner 10-15 years ago. The game is different now, period. It's all about speed and skill, rolling 4 lines that display some minimum level of said speed and skill.... which Larsson simply cannot provide. Give me those same defensive abilities on a guy with just a bit more offensive skill and speed.... it's not like he has some rare physical talent that makes him great at shot suppression. Take a guy like Asplund... I see him as a replacement for Larsson eventually.... similar stature, sound defensively, but a bit more speed and skill... might chip in 15-20g a season and provide sound defensive play.

Risto, Hutton and Larsson (sell high after 3 assist game)
-
it worked? he's sucked for 5 seasons, lucks into 3 assists in a single game against a team who laid down on their coach... and suddenly he's the answer? On his first assist he did nothing but engage in a wall battle at center ice, Skinner does all the rest. On the second assist he makes a cross ice pass from his own blue line to skinner at center ice. Skinner does the work, Sheary cleans up. On his thurd assist he blindly clears the puck from deep in his own zone up the wall, which evades a few bodies, sheary tracks it down shoots it off Domingues' blocker and it dribbles in. Skinner and Sheary did all the heavy lifting on those goals... Larsson was nothing more than a lucky passenger.

Any update on Dahlin? It's been over a week, getting a bit concerned.
-
They don't play every single minute with their linemates. Icings, for example, force them to stay out on the ice in their d-zone, often when they're tired in the middle of a line change. Risto is +6 over the last 3 games... still a negative TRpm haha ? Put Olofosson and Skinner with Jack. Reinhart is becoming dead weight on that line, 1 goal in the last 10 games... a couple assists over that span. He's invisible most nights.

This is getting out of hand. This stuff happened many years ago, same with Peters. Not excusing what they did, but it was the culture back then. Every coach I had from my teen years through college did things that would be considered completely unacceptable these days, from getting physically aggressive with players, racist comments here and there, belittling guys, etc... That said, I'm glad that they're cleaning this stuff up, but there has to be some statute of limitations here. It was a different era.
-
That's more a product of how bad NJ played last night than anything special that Larsson did.
-
Larsson centering Skinner is an abomination. You're paying Skinner $9m/yr and give him Johan Larsson as his center.... Johan Larsson, a guy who's averaged about 15-16 assists per season over his career. This organization man, I have no words.

I'm in Vegas for one of my boys hockey tournaments, just put down some coin on Buffalo at Mandalay Bay. If they win we'll have Turkey tomorrow, if not... bologna sandwiches.
-
I'm guessing Miller will get traded, he'll thrive with his new team and they'll rave about his character. Soon after the trade he'll explain what a shitshow it was in Buffalo not having any clue why he was scratched, nobody knowing who was in charge, aloof atmosphere in the locker room, lack of leadership, lack of accountability, poor work habits, etc etc etc etc
