You could tell the refs weren't going to call anything early in the third. There were obvious interference calls both ways that were missed, thus stuff with Kaleta and Downie... It just makes for ugly, boring hockey when the refs allow the game to turn into clutching, grabbing, tripping, interference...

This is what happens when the refs put the whistle away for the entire period. Muggings all over the ice.

Lalime is 9-24 since coming to the Sabres. It is hard to feel confident against any opponent when he's in net.

Timmy sure crapped the bed on that Tampa goal. Coughed it up by over stick handling then compounded the error by not tying up his man in front.

Hold on. Didn't you think the hooking call on Leopold was cheap?
Yeah, just seems like in general they're all over any hint of a stick penalty... but you rarely see interference calls even though if they really wanted to, they could call about 20 of 'em per game.
