  1. The Sabres will score 2 PP goals and win 5-2. Sundin takes about 100 "after the whistle" cheap shots in the 3rd period once the game is out of reach.
  2. -There was no definitive replay during the game, but the one they showed on the post game clearly showed the puck at least a foot over the goal line before Teppo pulled it back out. -No excuse for giving up a breakaway while on the PP with the game comfortably in hand and your goalie looking for a shutout. INEXCUSABLE! -The PP had its moments, but overall the man advantage suckfest continues. The 4 on 3 PP in the first period with repeated attempts to have Kotalik shoot from beyond the faceoff dot was as predictable as you can get. -Pretty solid overall effort against a weak team missing its best player. A good road win. -Brian Campbell is starting to experience the same brain farts that made him a game day scratch in 03-04 and the beginning of last year. Not nearly as bad now as it was then, but his play is definitely slipping. -Hecht is still the most underrated Sabre. For some reason he is the whipping boy of many fans, but he is one of the best two way players on the team and will end up somewhere around 20 goals and 50 points when all is said and done. GO SABRES...LEAFS SUCK!!!!
  3. I wasn't listening close and my radio at work is turned down, but I believe WGR just reported that Miller is starting tonight.
  4. Sabres come out pissed and take it out on Pittsburgh. All the canadiens coming down posing as Penguin fans go home broke, drunk and disappointed... Buffalo 7 Pittsburgh 2
  5. Sabres win again and remind the Senators who owned who in last years playoffs. Buffalo 3 Ottawa 2 in OT with Pominville getting the game winner! :)
  6. -Pominville had 3 great point blank chances. I can't believe none of them went in. -The referees seem to be letting things go again. -Miller...OUTSTANDING -Very strange career turn for Satan. he is one guy that I thought would explode in the "new" NHL, but instead his stats have taken a downward turn. If it wasn't for the fact that he was booed loudly every time he touched the puck, I don't think anyone would have noticed him. -The Islanders just couldn't get a shot through. I lost count of how many good chances did not get though to the net. -Way to close out a 4 game homestand. The Sabres played very well throughout it(for the most part) and came away will all 8 points.
  7. Miller continues to play well...Sabres 5 Islanders 2
  8. Game thoughts... -I thought the Sabres first period last night was worse than the Carolina game despite the fact that they came out with a 1-0 lead. Because of the lackluster play, the crowd was noticably quiet early on(at least it sounded that way on TV). -The first two goals were odd man rushes that were things of beauty. -Miller back to back very good efforts. -Nice change-up by Lindy. He put Tallinder and Lydman out for the last PP and what happens...GOAL! I would still like to see Pominville up front on the PP and Roy also get more PP time. -Three opponents in this home stand came in with winning streaks and all 3 went home losers. Beat the Islanders tomorrow and bring in the New Year with a 4 game winning streak!
  9. What was up with Carolina NOT going with Ward last night? I know they have a big game at home against Anaheim tonight, but Ward can't play back to back games? I'd have guessed that Laviolette would've wanted to beat Buffalo in the last regular season meeting between the two teams. I hope Anaheim crushes them tonight. Edited my post to include the word...NOT :)
  10. -VERY good effort by the Sabres. Even though they had a poor 1st period offensively, I didn't think they played that bad in their own zone during the period. -Miller was solid. I feel bad that he didn't get the shutout, but it was nobody's fault but his own. -Tallinder just doesn't make many mistakes. Good to have him back. -Staal's cheap shot on Pominville(I believe these were the players) after a penalty was called in the 3rd period was . I thought the NHL was cracking down on "after the whistle" crap like this. -Good to see the Sabres come out with back to back impressive efforts resulting in wins at home. They have had some duds at home over the last month or so which is disappointing when the house is being packed night after night.
  11. Who cares?? All I know is that my team was up against one of the weakest teams in the league and got beat because of a poor E-F-F-O-R-T! If they piled up 50 shots on goal and got beat because of a hot goalie, I would have no complaints.
  12. There will not be any "payback" against Ovechkin, but the Sabres win big 6-1!!
  13. Merry Christmas Sabres. You just lost to one of the WORST teams in the NHL. Way to mail it in after a very good effort against Nashville. <_<
  14. Does Barry Trotz have a neck or does his bowling ball like head sit right on his shoulders?
  15. Note to Sabres...when on the PP and there are 4 opposing players at the blue line, SHOOT THE PUCK IN!!!!
  16. To the OBNOXIOUS Canadiens fans behind me at the game, take your "Ole,ole, ole..." chant and stick it up your ass! Once the score hit 5-2, they started taunting people leaving early, making some lame Norwood jokes, started chanting "Miller, Miller, Miller...", etc... F U!
  17. I was at the game. Some thoughts... -One team had very good goaltending, the other did not. -WTF was Drury doing passing the puck when he had that break in on goal?? -I noticed Campbell making several plays that reminded me of the "old" Campbell. -First game I've been to in a while where Max was a non-factor. Matter of fact, that line was a non-factor.
  18. Peters act last night should land him in the press box for at least the next 10 games. He ended up looking like a complete jackass. Give me Paille, Stafford or Ryan. Any of them would be an asset on the 4th line.
  19. Sekera up :) , Paille down :( & Peters I would guess is in the lineup  . Peters wants to know if the Habs maintenance men can go over the bench with a belt sander. The splinters in his ass are starting to cause a rash. GO SABRES!!!!
  20. At the risk of repeating myself, dressing Paille puts a more skilled player in the lineup and would have allowed for the 4th line to skate a regular shift. I did not say that Paille is the next coming of Gretzky. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but a couple of games where Paille skated on the 4th line with Gaustand & Mair, were some of the best efforts from the 4th line this year.
  21. There is no waying of knowing the impact he may have had, but at least Paille could have skated a regular shift versus Peters who has to pick the splinters from the bench out of his ass at the end of every game. <_<
  22. Call me a broken record, but in a game where the offense is struggling, maybe having Paille in the lineup instead of Peters would have allowed for a 4th line contribution and a spark to the offense. Peters is a waste of a lineup spot! :censored: :censored: PS Please don't come back with "look what Breire said about Peters". That was a bunch of crap!
  23. I thought this was one of the Sabres better overall efforts this year. I didn't notice a lot of major breakdowns in their own end and when they did, Miller was there. Other observations... -Paetsch rebounded with a good game after the Washington debacle. :) - Having Lydman back helps a lot. I know some are critical of our defenseman giveaways, but as long as they don't result in scoring chances and they are kept to a minimum, I'm okay. For every bad play they make, there are a half dozen plays they make that lead to a good breakout of their own zone. -Briere is money! :worthy: :worthy: -The Sabre fans in attendence were AWESOME!! -Did Vanek forget to get his skates sharpened. It seemed like he was laying on the ice every other shift. -Kotalik...I'm still waiting! -He can fight(if that is what you want to call his charade) all he wants, Peters should still be in the press box(I don't care what Briere said after the game) and Paille on the 4th line. This would allow Lindy to roll 4 lines EVERY GAME! :wallbash: GO SABRES!!!
  24. Game thoughts... -I thought Lindy should have left Miller in. At 3-0 in the first period, there was plenty of time to turn the ship around. -Roy was the best Sabre on the ice. Good to see him back. -I don't care how many games the Sabres are winning, I am sick of Kotalik! He is officially my whipping boy for the rest of the year(this means he will start playing well, just like Drury after I ripped him a couple of weeks ago) . At 3 years for 7 million dollars, he is a complete waste of salary. He may not go anywhere this year, but I hope Darcy sends him packing in the off-season. In hindsight, the money would have been better spent on Dumont and Kotalik snet packing instead. -Classic Marty last night. DUMB play coming out to the blue line on one goal and letting a puck bounce in off his shoulder on another. Way to make the big saves when the team is trying to claw their way back into the game. <_< -Max is unbelievable and can single handedly turn a game around. :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: -What was up with the 5 for fighting, 10 minute misconduct & game misconduct for Mair & Gaustad? I know that the Sabres aren't going to win every game, but it's all about how you lose the game. This one was UGLY! GO SABRES!!!
  25. The 2 refs tonight should never see the ice at the NHL level again. They were just brutal against both teams. Great win for the Sabres sending the Leafs fans home pissed off. Here's hoping you get stopped at the border for a cavity search!
