2-0 Martin. McCarthy/Karlson goals. Robert seems to be dominating possession but not scoring
2-1 Novikov scores. good cut to the net
2-2. JRB scores.
Ratzlaff keeping Martin in it
3-2 JRB scores again on a nifty move with less than 30s

2-2. 2x Richard goals for Perreault. I missed who scores the second Martin goal, it was a last second goal to tie with their goalie out. Shootout. Sardarian ends it in the shootout with what I believe was the first goal?

Perrault vs Martin first. 1-1. Nadeau/Richard goals

both Murray and Weissbach got qualifying offers:
Possible temporary insertions into the lineup while Quinn is out?

It’s a blow, but I don’t think it is in the way you present it. We can still improve by Cozens improving, JJP improving, and Mitts giving us a full 82 games. Krebs can improve as well. Remember, we were one of the highest scoring teams in the NHL last season and it wasn’t because Quinn put up 30-40 goals. He only potted 14. If we can tread water with what we have till January, while giving up less goals (the most important thing), I think we’ll be fine.
I was going to type out something similar. Kudos. Plenty of other young guys all growing into their body and (hopefully) becoming more defensively responsible. Add to that (hopefully) improved goaltending all year from a more nhl adjusted Levi, I think they will be fine. It is a huge blow like dudacek points out, but they still ought to be a playoff team from just internal improvement
I am wondering if we see murray/weissbach get a shot on the sabres because of this injury. Wouldn't be surprised. Murray looked like he belonged when he played up 2 years ago for those 20ish games. I was surprised when he eventually got sent back down. And weissbach has always kind of jumped off the screen to me whenever i see him play. Supposedly he has added a little bit of rat to his game, could be interesting to see what he could do. They are rfas I believe?

Sounds like a good pick, especially if he is as good defensively as that guy on Twitter says he is. Best defensive forward in the draft, but insane offensive talent to boot? Yes please

First year two way. Second year one way. Sounds like they plan on him definitely being on the team next year. Maybe planning on intentionally bringing him up with kulich (the two czechs) in the same year?

Maybe the amerks run will sway Johnson towards joining? See it as a good place to launch his career?

Was a nice snipe, love to see it

So, they drafted what many people are regarding as a "big slot receiver". But they already had a pretty darn good "big slot receiver" on the team last year in Hodgins and didn't ever use him (AND eventually waived him). Maybe Kincaid will actually be used because he is more athletic and a first-round pick? Idk.

their 3v3 is pretty unreal. I don't know if it is just the games that I have watched, but whenever it goes to OT.. it just feels like it is inevitable that they will either score or maintain possession the whole time preventing the other team from scoring.

Alright boys. I'm back for the third period. I'm in my happy place:
Sabres game on, got a Dibella's sub for dinner, just finished our adult league soccer game (we lost, but it was still fun/good exercise), and the kid has gone to bed. Just going to enjoy this moment of zen watching the Sabres game, awaiting the crazy shakeup that is coming within the next month.. our second child.

My ideal offseason would look like this:
Must do:
1) Trade VO. The second half of the season has clearly indicated he isn't part of the long term picture. Get the guy off the payroll/roster and trade him to a team that will utilize him.
2) Extend Dahlin and Power. Nuff said.
One step below "must do":
1) Trade UPL. He has trade value unlike Comrie, get something out of him to un-crowd the goalie situation
2) Extend Mittelstadt. He's looked good the second half and shouldn't break the bank
3) Sign another top 4 capable defenseman
Less important:
1) Rework the fourth line: This is the hard one. I'm not really 100% sure about what to do with KO/Girgs. My suspicion is that we will let one walk, and it will probably be Girgs. But since this is about what I want and what I think is best for the team, we are letting both walk. Get 2 decent 2-way players that can play the PK and let Jost walk. Krebs will continue on the fourth line, filling in for injuries at center on the above lines.
2) Work Savoie into the fold. Heck of a season from the guy in the minors, he has nothing left to prove down there. I would give Kulich/Rosen another year down in the AHL.
3) Vet goalie. An older goalie in the Craig Anderson mold. Someone to help mentor Levi and play like 40 games the first year and fade in any further years. Release Comrie and let another team pick him up.
4) Let Clague walk. Bryson I don't really care what you do with, so long as he is pushed far enough down the depth chart that we won't see him unless it's an emergency.
This leaves the team looking like this:
Forwards:
Skinner - Thompson - Tuch
Peterka - Cozens - Quinn
Greenway - Mitts - Savoie
FA - Krebs - FA
Rousek is the thirteenth forward
Defense:
Samuelson - Dahlin
Power - FA
Stillman - Jokiharju
Lyubushkin in the seventh defenseman
Goalie:
Levi - FA

RIP. good season boys

Absolutely hate to see it.😁😁
Perets is a good goalie and a ufa. I’m pretty sure him and Levi grew up playing against each other.

So, Greenway has scored a few times. Maybe he has the potential on this time to produce offense on a regular basis? The thing is, after watching him score a few goals, play a bunch of games now, I still have no idea what I expect of him going forward.
I don't think there has ever been a player on a Sabres team that they aquired, that I have followed him on the ice as much as I can, that I have had less of an opinion on. I really have ZERO idea what he is or can be.
Agree completely. It's funny.. based on his stats with the Wild and the way he was described when we traded for him.. I was expecting a better than average passer and a better than average defender. But yet he has 4 goals and no assists so far (3 in the last 4 games!). That goal last night was a pretty clean shot, he definitely looked like a goal scorer there.

Kind of blown away by Mitts. You know these guys are going to get better as they age... but holy moly. He just turned it on halfway through the season and hasn't looked back since.
9 points in his last 6 games

He really jumped off the screen when he had the puck. Didn't make any huge plays, but he did have the puck quite a bit. Robert had the puck probably like 60-70% of the time. Also, his stick was pretty active. You can tell that he has some defensive chops
