  1. People are still on the Cale Makar bandwagon from last season, but Makar doesn't take over games in the same manner that Dahlin does. Granted, I accept that could be because Dahlin is playing with less talent in Buffalo than Makar is in Colorado, so standing out is a little easier. However, the differences in immediate on-ice impact are noticeable.
  2. We got a new puppy! He is an 8 week old Border Collie and Great Pyrenees mix. We got him on Saturday from a local rescue. My dog passed away in August of last year (Belgian Malinois) and it took a while before I was ready to get another dog. We made a list of breeds that satisfied our requirements which were basically: - Must be good with kids - "No small dogs" - Will let us know when someone is at the door - Not going to chase/kill chickens or goats (my Malinois jumped out of my truck window when I was doing 40mph to chase a rabbit once so I didn't want to risk another one with chickens). Border Collie was on the 'small' side and Great Pyrenees can be a bit tough to train, but we saw this guy and decided to see how a mix works out. He will be an indoor family dog. Between 8pm and 8am, he was 7 for 7 on letting us know he needed to go outside to go potty. The first night he was 5 for 5. During the day we're about 50%. Honestly, I can't complain about that for an 8 week old pup (plus we have stamped concrete flooring so it's easy to clean unlike carpet). He's also learned already the clicker means treats. Not a bad start.
  3. Well I'm going to bed. Goodnight y'all.
  4. Fitz doing a good job just being annoying.
  5. Pretty weak trip. Still a trip though.
  6. Second time this year Cozens has scored by being the stronger player in front. Love to see it.
  7. That was a terrible pass back to Skinner by Power.
  8. Nice try by Peterka there.
  9. The quality is not good. It's not just you. I went from projector to TV because I thought it was the projector. It's just as bad on the TV.
  10. VO is playing better tonight. The rest of the team isn't though.
  11. Power has had three passes where he saucered them or put the puck on edge and it wasn't intentional.
  12. It wasn't a comment on his speed. Just his skating style.
  13. Power is a ridiculously smooth skater.
  14. Well it was fun it lasted. Time to rebuild. Sell the franchise. Fire the coach. Etc.
  15. Just need a spark from someone stepping up.
  16. Very flat footed tonight.
  17. Hulu Live doesn’t work with VPN. It will only let you change location for live 3x a year. It’s a PITA. espn+ works with a VPN though.
  18. I just came here to say I think this is the game Quinn gets some confidence back in. Glad I'm not the only one.
  19. Fundamentally we agree but I phrased it poorly. I think Buffalo "should win" in the context of proving preseason expectations and not "should win" in the context that we're the President's trophy winning team playing a bottom feeder. The pre-season expectation for this team was that they're better than Montreal and Chicago and as good or slightly behind Detroit. If I meant the context of "should win" because they're the better team based on the small sample size of 1/16th of the season, I'd have said we "should" win against Tampa because Tampa is off to a slow start. I do not believe for a minute Buffalo is a better team than Tampa. If that makes sense.
  20. I think Buffalo lights the lamp a lot this game. Both Grubauer and Jones have been pulled from games--and Seattle has only played 7. I'm just hoping we don't get overconfident in our goaltending and we remember that we're short two defensemen. We need players like Mitts to continue his solid defensive play we saw against Vancouver. I'm less worried if Buffalo drops this game than if we drop any of the subsequent three. My only fear is if we drop this game the momentum carries through when we need positive momentum heading home. We play Montreal on Thursday, Chicago on Saturday, and Detroit next Monday. Those are three games we should win. Chicago is not very good and if the Sabres play their game that should be a win. That can be said for Montreal as well with the added concern that they're a division opponent. Obviously, Detroit is a division opponent as well, but that game is important because they're considered by many to be ahead of us in the rebuild process and, if this team has any hope of landing a wild card spot, they can't afford to be dropping points against other resurgent teams. After that we play Pittsburgh, Carolina and Tampa. I don't see us going 3-0 against those teams. We need to stack wins now.
  21. VO: I don’t score every game, but when I do, it comes in twos.
