  1. As per Rosen, to be fair he didn't get much playing time on ice in SHL. Having said that, he didn't do too much with it only putting up 4 points in 28 games in 2021/2022 and 1 point in 22 games in 2020/2021.......so a total of 5 points over 50 games does not make me feel great about his performance. Do you think playing in the AHL will be any easier? Not a chance......guys in their late 20s early 30s, Dmen all over 6"0 and 190-200 pounds......a level of aggressive well beyond ANY level of Swedish hockey he has ever played. Add to it the small ice and it becomes a scary equation. I'm all in on the Sabres but I don't see any favorable scenario at this point in time for Rosen on this side of the pond. I truly hope I am wrong as I'd love this kid to succeed. I'm voting for him but until he matures and puts on some size I would leave him in Sweden.
  2. Kozak had a great year and has leap-frogged ahead of many players. As he isn't the biggest kid at about 5'10 or 5"11 and under 170 he falls in the "basic" size area. My guess is that Kozak is offered a contract after his overage year in the WHL unless he blows people away at rookie camp. I expect he will be part of the go forward strategy for Sabres
  3. Do you really believe that? Rosen is not even in close proximity to those three. Sorry
  4. Yes......but maybe not in the Sabres organization. You see this all the time....check out Trevor Moore (I only pick him because I was watching the Kings game the other night)....Moore came out of NCAA and played 4 years for the Marlies......barely got a sniff. Finds himself on the LA Kings at 23 or 24 years old and has been a regular in the NHL ever since (27 now)
  5. The Russians are a risky group.....unless you've come over to the CHL or USHL ahead of time I would stay clear. The political unrest (understatement) is one thing but the Sabres do not really have any say whatsoever in how they develop. I would not trust top end picks with them to develop. Moreso, if they do develop I could see them not being let out to play and almost forced to stay home and play KHL. Take a Russian if you like bur take him in the 4th round or beyond.
  6. Amerks got Olischefski from Providence and Knoepke from Nebraska-Omaha but they have been healthy scratches since there are so many player on roster right now. Always movement to and from teams in AHL so I'm sure they will fill the gaps until the 2021 draft class arrives. Having said that, I really hope KA doesn't double up on the Russians in this years draft as we need to make sure some of the new pipeline actually wants to play in NA
  7. Bloom can play but based on the fact Amerks are in a tight playoff race I highly doubt they throw him in. He has some offensive flair and is great at killing penalties but doubt we see him
  8. Looks like he took over 300 faceoffs so a little bit of C in there but Saginaw liked him on the wing for his speed and his ability to play both LW and RW. My friend told me that when Saginaw was going thru an injury/Covid period he also played D in 8 games. Sounds pretty versatile or just prepared to play wherever the Coach asks to help get the W
  9. Kid is 6’2, 180 pounds, fast at lighting, scored 30 goals on a last place team, wears a letter, plays with grit, no issue dropping the gloves when required and is only 18. Very very raw, especially after missing a year when OHL was closed…..let’s hope Sabres don’t rush anything as he has lots of time to flourish if handled properly. Long time (1 OHL plus 2 AHL) before ready to compete for a spot but I cautiously like the upside
  10. Nadeau is a beast......big, strong kid......very slow skater but he seems to be getting better from the highlights I've seen. It will be great to see him in Rochester or Rookie Camp to see growth. Solid pick for a 4th rounder.
  11. I think they can sign an ATO and age doesn’t matter but not sure…..anyone know the rules??
  12. As far as the CHL kids, 3 of them (Nadeau, Kozak, Marjala) are all on top teams and headed for playoffs but Bloom is on a team that is dead last and their season ends this weekend. It would make a lot of sense to sign him to an ATO and send him to Rochester even if only to workout with the team. It wouldn't shock me at all as the kid has size 6'2 and speed to easily play at the next level.
  13. Can't they send all the CHL kids to Rochester since they own their rights?
  14. Can they play/train in Rochester now that their seasons are done?
  15. Bloom got another 2 points last night in a crazy 9-8 win with a game tying assist to send to OT. Saginaw won in OT and he was part of that play as well. Saginaw came back with 5 unanswered goals which was insane for a 20th place team to accomplish....lol
  16. Looks interesting but between you and me, I have no clue what it actually means....lol I do know that the kid had another 2 point game and a +3 in yet another loss by Saginaw (verse Windsor) last night.
  17. He was actually a +3 but lost one when the coach decided to pull the goalie when down by two. London scored an empty netter almost immediately. It has got to be frustrating when you are effectively a +3 and your Team still loses by 3 but I guess that is what happens when you play on the 20th place Team in a 20 Team league. Even the Sabres aren't dead last !! I'm shocked that he is still pretty much a point a game player 50+ games into the season.
  18. Missing my point on Rosen.....I'm sure he would have similar if not better numbers in the CHL, where my worries are is that with his size he will be challenged at the NEXT LEVEL to continue to do the things he does. There are some big boys playing in the AHL and the majority of them can skate and/or are very strong positionally. I'm all in on Rosen....I just think he will have a harder time adjusting to the North America game than the CHL players who are already playing that style.
  19. I actually think that Bloom, Nadeau and Kozak are much better candidates to make an impact than any of the Russians and Rosen. Russians may never come across the pond with all the geo-political craziness and even if they do it is 3-4 years out. Rosen is full of skill but bite-sized......I'm not so sure that all the positive things he is know for will be that transferable. I hope I'm wrong but 5'10 and sub 160 is not ideal.
  20. Scouts did a good job.....kid grew 2 inches and put on 20 pounds of muscled during the covid year so clearly was hitting the gym. I'm just impressed that he is a point a game on a 10th place team with next to no help. Up against the other team's top pairing defense every night and still producing. Put him on a London, SSM or Windsor and I bet his point total dramatically rises. Only 18 so long way to go but as mentioned, trending well
  21. So if you look at our last draft and the handful of players outside of Quinn, Krebs and Peterka who would garner some interest in a bundle? I thought that most of the Russians are a good 3-4 years out at best (if ever). I hate to throw 1st and 2nd round future picks away as we want to build our Team around them. Having said that if we try to sell Miller, Pysyk, Hagg, Hino or any grouping of them to get another 1st rounder, I think we will have to offer up a young prospect too. What is in the cupboard that would garner interest to make this happen?
  22. Kid is 6'2, 185 pounds and skates like the wind.......and he's only 18......think you might want to chose a different player for your comparison
