  1. Do they thinking loafing the first period to conserve energy is a "strategy?" Tired of this every damn game.
  2. Just saw Comrie is in nets. ***** me.
  3. I'm from NE Ohio and as far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a gangster...err...they were always "drums and flats."
  4. Yes, UPL for sure, but I was thinking of skaters. If it was easy as "ugh, our lousy goaltending is killing us", that would theoretically be an easy fix. UPL is good enough to win most nights so far...the problems are much deeper than that. It looks systemic to me.
  5. I don't know. I've been a huge Granato supporter. But we're seeing the same lackadaisical approach out of the gate every game. The same mistakes up and down the lineup every game. I don't know that a roster shakeup does anything. Maybe it does, but we're almost 30% through what was supposed to be a playoff year and we look nothing like a team that is ready for that. The regression is horrifying. Sometimes a new message is all a team needs. Look at Edmonton. They were the laughingstock of the league, they changed coaches, got oriented under him and now they're playing exactly the kind of hockey that was expected of them. Let me be clear - I don't think this is all on Granato, but he's the guy ultimately responsible for the output of the roster he's handed. Is this roster that great? No, but basically the same guys were playing outstanding hockey in March/April and they've fallen off a cliff. I can't point to one guy, other than maybe Peterka, that's taken a leap forward from last season.
  6. Fireable offense in and of itself. I'm glad Meatballs was the guy after Raaaaaalph, he helped turn things around and really developed some of this young core (that I still believe in), but sometimes the message gets stale and a change has to be made. We're at that point with Granato.
  7. If some kind of move (trade/firing) doesn't occur, I think we can safely assume Adams is okay punting on this season...which is unacceptable.
  8. KA needs to awaken from his slumber and do something, the season is slipping into the abyss. I've been a big Adams supporter, but the standing pat routine is growing tiresome.
  9. Cozens starting to look more like last year's Cozens. His line has been really good. Huh? I'd say he and Benson have been our best players tonight.
  10. Don't waste another good outing by UPL, fellas.
  11. Let's go, boys; win the third.
  12. Benson a standout again tonight.
  13. Penalty shot VO. Helluva pass by Dahlin.
  14. Rosen has been noticeable.
  15. Nashville is bottom 1/3 of the league defensively and these guys can't even score on them.
  16. This was supposed to be one of the most exciting teams in hockey. They were last year. Instead they're disjointed and boring. They've lost the plot.
  17. Fire Granato. Same *****, different day.
  18. I get and agree with KA's overall strategy to build from within/through the draft, and early returns (i.e. the end of last season) seemed to justify it. He's playing the long game, which I can appreciate, but this fanbase has been wandering in the desert for 12 long years. There's not going to be a lot of patience. He probably bit too hard on the team's success as last year wound down and decided to run it back with only minor tweaks. That approach clearly ain't working in the short term and more veteran help is needed. There is a glut of prospects in the system. It is stocked. Deal one or two of them and don't be miserly with the draft picks to go get these guys some friggin' help.
  19. He's not 100% to blame, but a lot of these recurring issues are coachable. Pretty much this same team was playing great hockey in March/April, now they can't string 2 wins in a row together. I still believe in this roster (with some help in nets), but it needs a new approach.
  20. Such a frustrating team. We're past 1/4 through the season, at what point do you do something to shake things up? I know not having Tage and Quinn is a blow, but these struggles are beyond that. Bring in a proven winner to coach (Gallant is tanned, rested, and ready) and go get a good veteran goalie to tandem with UPL; Comrie ain't it. The playoffs SHOULD be the goal and that ain't happening without some changes.
