  1. There's no way they let Hackett walk away with no compensation. The Sabres think he has played well since his promotion to Buffalo. With Hackett showing well in previous AHL campaigns in Houston and last year in Rochester, he'll either be re-signed or moved as part of some deal. Smart organizations don't let 24 year old talented players just walk away and Murray won't either.

  16. They have to say that in order to keep their options open. If the Sabres wind up with the 2nd pick, they certainly wouldn't want to tip their hand so that the team with the 1st pick feels comfortable about dropping back to the 3rd pick with no fear of losing their guy.
