The Buffalo Sabres face the Seattle Kraken with both teams looking to improve on rough seasons. The Sabres have a 32-31-5 record and with only five wins in their last 10 games, they are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division. The Kraken have a 28-26-12 record and with four losses in a row, they have the third-worst record in the Pacific Division. Both teams look to finish the season strong and possibly make a push for a playoff spot and the upcoming game should be a good one. https://winnersandwhiners.com/games/nhl/3-18-2024/buffalo-sabres-vs-seattle-kraken-prediction-4054/ When the Buffalo Sabres shipped off Erik Johnson, Casey Mittelstadt and Kyle Okposo at the NHL's trade deadline, it appeared they were raising a white surrender flag on their season. Three straight victories followed, putting them right back in the Eastern Conference's wild-card chase. Despite a 4-1 loss Saturday in Detroit to open their five-game trip, the Sabres will try to continue their playoff push when they meet the Seattle Kraken, a team that took a somewhat different approach at the deadline and has since fallen off the pace. https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/sabres-eager-to-move-up-in-playoff-chase-visit-kraken/

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Approaching the end of the warmest winter on record, Buffalo’s playoff hockey drought might be starting to thaw. After scorching Detroit 7-3 on Tuesday night at KeyBank Center, the Sabres (31-30-5 — 67 points) are now within a few wins of the Red Wings (33-26-6 — 72 points) and New York Islanders (29-21-14 — 72 points) for the Eastern Conference’s last wild-card playoff spot. Improving to 7-3-1 over the past 11 games, Buffalo hosts New York on Thursday before going on the road for Saturday’s rematch with the Detroit, which have now lost six in a row. https://www.wivb.com/sports/buffalo-sabres/sabres-surging-into-playoff-picture/ Preview & Stats https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/new-york-islanders-buffalo-sabres-2024031402/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAJSK9_bNyXBPh3VmUO8yYPYBWuLywdzJbHYNb0ZLcHX5xGZsN7wWKy_Oou9Th60VJCKVNeZweDMXWSwqvwkJNmTPkWKXlBQzTTB4dP64X1tDp0fsds2Wv0MkNlfY29aRQF7XZS_AyMIy_kgGWTnyrN22FeRo7kpggQX47MtCQQcl
