  1. Starting to see the same pattern here. Other team tries their best to control the play in the first. Buffalo weathers the storm and takes it to them in the second and finsihes them off in the third. Buffalo is outshooting NYI so far, but NYI getting good chances. Miller sharp!

  2. I'd be a Rangers fan, like I'm a Yankees fan and not a Blue Jays fan. Gotta root for the home country and state, IMHO.

This team is really skating tonight. They are making Montreal look slow and tentative. That Drury goal was as good as it gets in the profession...

  3. I think both teams have much more than decent goaltending.

Okay.. How about above average goal tending

Everytime I look at the conference standings I just shake my head. I can't recall the last time a Buffalo * team lead the league in scoring. Maybe back in the Bills hey dey. But 42 goals is awesome. 5.2 goals per game blows away my expectations for October hockey.

  4. These team looks very evenly matched. This game will break on breaks. Powerplays will probably determine it. I don't see a lot of even-strength goals. They both have speed, great shooters and decent goal tending. They have similar PP and PK stats. Montreal had the better game the first time around and lost on some late period lapses/heroics. If you want to see how good you are, play the best and beat them. That is all the incentive they need. I see this as a one goal game: 3-2. We are due to lose and my poll prediction was this was going to be the game. Third game in four nights and on the road to boot against a quality opponent.

They win tonight and I predict they don't lose until November. Islanders are down this year. Atlanta will be tough, but we will be home and rested. Atlanta will be playing their fourth road game in six nights and will be tired.

  5. Sounds like the HatedCanes are hurting just a bit coming into this game

Buffalo - Center Tim Connolly (10/3, Concussion) is sidelined indefinitely.

Carolina - Defenseman Glen Wesley (10/17, undisclosed) is day-to-day. Forward Andrew Ladd (10/16, arm) is sidelined indefinitely. Defenseman Bret Hedican (10/17, undisclosed) is day-to-day. Forward Trevor Letowski (10/16, head) is sidelined indefinitely. Center Keith Aucoin, foot, day-to-day. Forward Cory Stillman (10/4, shoulder) is sidelined indefinitely. Defenseman Frantisek Kaberle (10/4, shoulder) is sidelined indefinitely.

  6. Even though we're 6-0, it'd be a massive disappointment if Carolina came here and won. Maybe it's just me, but i'm not over it yet. I want us to beat them.

I completely agree; each time we play the HatedCanes, it's personal. Especially on our ice. I don't want them to even think they have a chance of competing in this game. I am all for a total thumping. These are statement games. Thump 'em and they begin to question if they can compete.

Under no circumstances should they be allowed to take that bus back to the airport with a "W".

I hope the Sabres check the living daylights out of Staal.
