  1. “While Reaves might be the toughest in the NHL right now, John Scott was no softy during his time playing. The massive 6-8 defenseman wasn't afraid to go anyone during his playing years. This includes Ryan Reaves, however, it didn't end up happening.

Scott recently talked on a podcast about how Reaves dodged him during a game and ducked out of the fight when Scott did end up grabbing him.

"Well, he ducked me - he didn't want to [fight] and I finally grabbed him and he bailed out and you can tell him that... But, I think it's kind of as advertised. I know Toronto has dipped their toe in the tough waters throughout the years and tried to bring that edge, but they never went all in." - Scott on Reaves

Scott also went on to explain how he thinks bringing Reaves in will be different than other tough guys the Leafs have acquired in the past like Wayne Simmonds and Kyle Clifford.
Since the Colton Orr and Frazer McLaren days, I think they went 'we'll bring in a Kyle Clifford, we'll bring in a Wayne Simmonds... those guys are kind of tough, but this is the biggest top dog in the NHL and everybody knows it... And the good thing about Ryan Reaves is he's fast, he can get in on the forecheck, I think he's proven it the first two games, he's been laying guys out... You've gotta make yourself relevant other than just dropping the gloves, so he's good for this team.

He's a good guy. He's going to definitely make up his contract there. When he signed, I said 'Reavo, you're overpaid, how do you do it?' But I'm teasing because he does other things that nobody sees to make up for the lack of offensive production on the ice." - John Scott

My comments… I’m just glad Sabres don’t have that waste of a roster spot on the team.

  2. Mattias Samuelsson will be in the lineup for the Buffalo Sabres against the Calgary Flames at KeyBank Center on Thursday.

Samuelsson left Buffalo’s win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday following his first shift of the third period due to an upper-body injury. He was on the ice for the team’s morning skate Thursday.

Devon Levi was the first goaltender off the ice following the morning skate and is expected to start for the fourth straight game.

The Flames are 1-1-1 coming off an overtime loss in Washington on Monday. Defenseman Noah Hanifin enters Thursday on a three-game point streak and leads the team with four assists.

Calgary is 10-for-10 on the penalty kill to open the season and 59-for-65 (90.8 percent) dating back to March 1, which leads the NHL in that span.

“When you look at that lineup, it’s deep and strong,” Granato said. “… Heck of a group of defensemen, very talented and very competitive, and likewise up front.”

Dan Vladar will make his first start of the season in goal for Calgary.

  3. First, there are no wrong answers because everyone has their own preferences and tastes.

I’ve had Mexican food in many parts of the country. Including the southwest. It’s my favorite cuisine. I’ve eaten at many many local joints …

Taqueria Los Mayas is a very authentic southwest Mexican food experience.

I could eat tacos from La Divina on Delaware 5 days a week.

I haven’t tried them yet, but have heard good things and it’s on my list to go! 👍🏼

  4. On October 13, 2018, what defenseman scored the first goal of his NHL career in the Sabres 3 - 0 win over the Coyotes?

What forward scored a career high 37 goals for the Sabres in 2006–2007?

Name the two goaltenders who played for the Sabres in the 1979–1980 season?

    Yeah, the contract is fine.

Power isn’t perfect in his own zone, but not many 20 year olds are.  He’ll get better.

It’s frankly shocking to me that people who watch hockey have to be constantly reminded that young players aren’t finished products and the more talented ones almost always develop and improve as they age. Is the memory of past years and past players that cloudy? I just don’t get it. Never have.

  6. It’s funny to me … to think talking to guys who played in the 70’s and 80’s will make a difference.

“Hey Youngblood! Drink JD and smoke an unfiltered camel just before the game. It will help you find that extra gear when it counts. Treat your body like playground errrr I mean a temple”.

”Hey Whipper Snapper! If you plow four random women a week, and snort coke off the ass off the local bicycle just before you walk into the Aud errr the arena, you will be soooo extra super duper motivated to kick ass! That young man, is how you be a pro’s pro. Now excuse me as I read my AARP magazine on the toilet”.

He was at Sabres Practice today

So it would be a safe assumption that Anderson is mentoring, right? Along with Bales, and also getting some feedback from his goalie coach from college. Would that be a safe or incorrect assumption?
