Dell is not good, but he kept us in the game early in the 1st… Dell is one part of a unit, and our defensive play in our zone is pathetic… Can’t even clear the puck let alone break out an offensive surge… Playing not to lose has led to losses all season… You’d think they’d learned that by now…
-
Jeez… Clear the damn puck…

Sabres in their heels… Lost their offense… Need to reset…

So, Dunleavy is actually doing real play by play. Did he read @PASabreFan's thread???
You should hear the Panthers play-by-play man… WGR needs an upgrade…

It sure would be cool when a Sabre gets injured he’s not out until the next millennium. What is it with this team and injuries.
Agree… Conditioning?… Equipment?… Overly cautious on returns?… Mittelstadt’s been out for weeks with upper body injury… Broken bone?… Rotator Cuff?… Separated shoulder?… Anyone know?… Sabres are cryptic with injury information…

Take Tokarski out… Team not playing in front of him… Calgary buzzing…

I have little faith in Tokarski
Ye of little faith… Tokarski proved he can play and belongs in the NHL… and Granato and his teammates seem confident in his game…

Is this debate relevant to us anymore?
Nope… But the Eichel Obsession dies slow on the board… He’s gone… Let it go… We have a fine roster of young stars to discuss…

We have learned that John is a selfish POS. He was a locker room cancer and a miserable person. We learned he is the antithesis of what being a leader is. John will never win a thing in the NHL or the Olympics. My prediction is he burns the Knights down and we get their 2023 lottery pick.
Agree with your read on the kid… Will be interesting to see his impact on the Knights if he returns to form after his surgery… Even if he does, doubt the kid has the character to survive the temptations of Las Vegas… My bet is he washes out… or crashes and burns before he turns 30… But he got his trade… and he has his dough… Like the rest of us… up to him to make good choices…

Thanks for the belly laugh… Adams just rid our team of one selfish egomaniac… No chance he wants Kane… Give Adams more credit…
-
No, Dahlin is not dumb… Just young, presently overrated, and in need of plenty of hard work… to deliver on his promise…

It’s finally over… Welcome to Tuch and Krebs… Good riddance to Eichel… Hoping our new Sabres are positive players and see the opportunity here… Expecting in a handful of years, Eichel will be disgruntled again… Hard to change character at his age… Good job, Adams…

I feel this too. The Sabres chipped away at the emotion required to invest, for a decade, a third of my life. Being a fan of another team of course isn't an option, never has never will, so it sorta causes a detachment, to a degree, from the game as a whole. Like I said - I'm not going anywhere: for me the Sabres are hockey, to a large extent (as much as I love the game overall). But it'll take a good long while for the emotion and passion to come back for me, I think. Just waiting, right now.
Whoever said all that tanking would do damage to the soul of a fan - your are correct, and wise, and I regret ever rooting for losses. I think I'd take that back, if I could.
The appreciation and love for the fanbase doesn't waver - frequenting this site remains, even when the team isn't drumming up the passion.
You know the old market saying… “Get a hunch, buy a bunch”… My bet is… this group brings you and others back…faster than you think

Yes shoot more. We lack scorers/finisher. Yesterday he passed up shots to look for others. We didn’t test their goalie nearly enough.
Amen… Dahlin passed up several shots… lost the puck or passed and we ended up losing the puck without a shot on goal…
-
Dahlin tried to do too much…Had many chances to shoot in regulation… Loses the window… Had one good shot in OT…Then turns around and is out of position on the Devils score… instead of charging the shooter… Not off to a good start this year… Less minutes might get his attention…
-
Saddling Granato with a selfish player who thinks he is a super star… when you have a locker room of kids learning together with the help of a handful of real pros… would be counterproductive… Adams won’t do it… unless forced by the Pegulas… Someone posted the given reality earlier… Eichel is a cancer… Good riddance…

Jack has his surgery, ready for the olympics, sabres are near the top of the standings and we add a healthy Eichel for the stretch run.
Nope… No chance Adams lets Eichel anywhere near the Sabre locker room… The guy is poison… He would spoil the great chemistry this group is building…

A top goalie? I’d settle for a mediocre goalie. Have you looked at who the Sabres are planning on going with between the pipes this season?
Tokarski is not elite… but Tokarski is a gamer… He will win plenty of games…
-
Agree it is the Pegula’s call… If it were my decision, when Eichel and his Reps give up any claim to remaining contract compensation if he is unable to pass a team physical after the surgery he wants… he can have it his way… The Sabres retain all rights… Pass or fail, let any team outside the division make an offer…
