My hope is that Terry is just letting him save face while Jarmo is now. really calling the shots.
Yes, we can hope.
Jarmo was the only one whose remarks and Q&A responses made any sense at their joint presser.

Get Quinn tf off this team also. Another liability as a two-way player and the guy looks like ***** Bambi now. Can’t stay on his feet.
Another soft first rounder that can’t come close to living up to the expectations. Sell him on his high offensive potential just like JJ.
Just sell him.
Not the type of player we need to build a team hard to play against.

What if Dahlin wanted Peterka gone?
Wouldn’t surprise me.
Dahlin must be sick of losing and losers, no matter how talented.
If the 23 yr old 4 yr vet Peterka wasn’t buying into the system and didn’t want to be a Sabre, I would like to believe the 25 yr old 7 yr vet and team Captain Dahlin would have told him goodbye and good luck after asking KA to trade him. Dahlin hasn't worn the C even a year yet. He will grow into the role and get more vocal, my bet.
Not an Adams fan, but agree with him 100%. If a player doesn’t want to be in Buffalo, move him. Think Adams made the right decision about JJP.
The Sabres need to build a roster of players who want to be here, who care about each other, play a hard game standing up for each other, and play with a passion for winning.
Whether it’s hockey or ping pong in the locker room.
The Passion for Winning Gene.
Hasn’t gotten the attention from our scouting, analytics, and front office it requires to build a Panthers-like culture, imo. Don’t believe I’ve ever heard Adams emphasize it.
Winning your shift, winning a puck battle on the boards, winning every game. A GM, Coach, or Player either has it or doesn’t.

For those who have not seen and/or do not know about this absolutely excellent short documentary about the process of his defection:
Thanks for posting this video, Eleven. And, welcome back.
Cannot imagine Kevin Adams having the audacity to do anything even close to this myself.
Meehan was a General Manager.

I know I am going to attract a lot of howls here but I haven't given up on Sameulsson as the secondary/support player on either of the top two pairings.

Just listened to the interview.
Thompson has a pro attitude. Appreciates the game. The son of an NHL player and coach, he understands the business side of it.
Heard the disappointment in his voice at not experiencing an NHL playoff game yet.
My guess is unless the Sabres make major changes this off season, he will ask for a trade. Maybe already has.
Savvy GM, new winning Coach, a difference maker or two, and perhaps he sticks around to help Buffalo.
Buffalo sure hasn’t done much to help him.

This is a "stink" that the franchise will never be rid of (kind of like the bad odor in Jerry Seinfeld's car). Whether it's Drury, Ryan Miller or Tage Thompson....this team never has the toughness or will to have each other's backs.
Never say never.
It was widely agreed by Gretzky et al last night that Tkachuk completely changed the culture in the Panther locker room. It made welcoming the hated Marchand possible as well.
Adams doesn’t have the chops to pull off something similar.
Likewise, Ruff wouldn’t have had a clue how to use them, imo. The game has passed him by.
Maurice joined the Panthers in June ‘22. In three years he’s delivered 2 Cups, back to back.
Sabres need a new GM, a new Coach, and a couple culture changers.

My hope is that the Pegulas, Adams, Ruff, and the players still possess the capacity to be embarrassed by their individual and collective performance over the past five years, especially when compared to what they watched in this year’s SC playoffs, and that they prepare in this offseason to come to camp with a different roster and commitment to change the culture. Playing for each other matters. Winning matters.
Apologize for the run on sentence.

There is no situation in the league worse.
Well said, Archie.
Think your post captures the likely given reality most Sabres are experiencing in unspoken public disappointment or discontent.
There is no quick fix with Pegula and Adams in place, imo.
Prime years wasted by disrespect for the players.
Money is not the currency of the spirit.

He looks so out of place. A step slower than playoff pace, no board or checking work.

Yep. Me, too. I’m in Sarasota eight years now. Panthers are my second home team.

Watching the intro video to Game 3 just a handful of minutes ago, can’t help but feel for our players who have been cheated by an Owner and GM who didn’t make the effort to support them with a competitive shot at the Cup after five years running the show.
Pegula and Adams should be ashamed of themselves.

That was our 6’4” D-man, Little Nikita leading the rush then with a backhand flip for the 🍎. Too early to think he’s not #6/7?
Nope. Wishing him a great camp. Stick around, kid.

All I can say is that I am sorely disappointed. They seem determined to be the feeder team to the rest of the league by developing and then alienating players until they ask out or fall into a depressive spiral.
The fact Adams apparently presented to Pegula for multiple days makes me even less enthused as it likely means that rather than Pegula not caring or being a cheap skate; he's likely just getting the wool pulled over his eyes over and over again. Granted that would make Adams some sort of Machiavellian villain but it could be the case.
He's a guy who ingratiated his way up the ladder with the Pegulas, gained their inherent trust and now holds one of the most powerful positions under them. Adams saying Pegula will give him whatever money he needs doesn't necessarily have to be a lie. If my boss said to me, here's a blank check and you're goal was retaining your job would you actually look to use it to its entirety. Instead using under the budget makes you look smart and fiscally savvy. Pegula wants to know how the team can succeed and thus Adams gives a multiple day presentation using specially procured data to show the team is on the precipice of greatness. Pegula has 50 things on his mind and a trust issue after Lafontaine and Murray; Adams is in a unique situation where he's the trusted advisor. Regardless of the standings; if data "says" the team should be doing better; its not unrealistic for Terry to look at it and chalk it up to bad luck. Effectively Terry Pegula is a fan of the team who has plenty of distractions and thus can be manipulated. Adams doesn't need to sell us the team's future; only Terry.
Adams has no shame. He should have resigned.

Watching the intensity of SC playoff hockey, doubt our roster could have competed had they qualified.
Not many games all season were they willing to play hard for a full 60 minutes, in my memory. Doubt they were even able.
Off season conditioning was highlighted by Ruff. He sees it.

A little history.
“The Washington Capitals played a legendary multiple-overtime game after midnight during the 1987 Stanley Cup playoffs. This game, known as the “Easter Epic,” was Game 7 against the New York Islanders, played on April 18–19, 1987. The game began on Saturday evening and ended at 1:58 a.m. on Easter Sunday after four overtime periods, making it the longest Game 7 in NHL history“
Was at that game. A Caps season ticket holder back then.
How many OTs tonight??
