  1. Yea, and its been a problem for awhile now. Fear maybe? Or coaching?
  2. Plenty of game left, but yea, they definitely aren't playing inspired.
  3. I'm expecting the Legend of Skinner to Grow this evening...………...x 4 ? GO SABRES!!!
  4. This kid has size, some speed, some hands. I look at this kid, and I see a winger for Larsson ?
  5. Ryan Rishaug‏Verified account @TSNRyanRishaug Follow Follow @TSNRyanRishaug More Oilers had discussion with Markus Lehto, agent for Jesse Puljujarvi today. Team is open to trading him if a proper return can be found, and in the meantime an AHL stint to help boost offence and confidence is being considered. No decisions yet. Ryan Rishaug‏Verified account @TSNRyanRishaug Follow Follow @TSNRyanRishaug More I think the return needed to convince the Oilers to trade Puljujarvi would be quite high. Team still believes in the player and if return isn’t what they want they’ll be happy to sit tight and continue working with him.
  6. Didn't feel the need for a new thread for the approaching trade dead line, but, I do not believe Botterill does much at all. Maybe move one player, defense, Beaulieu. An outside chance, and very outside, that he moves a forward. I don't believe Sobotka is going anywhere honestly. Same with Okposo. Larsson may be sought after by other teams, but I wouldn't trade him. Defensively, the LHD position is a big log jam, and this is where my question mark lay. Scandella? I think so honestly. A team looking for depth may concede a late 1st or prospect for him. Putting aside his bad season this year, he's still a very serviceable 3/4 LD with a years term at a reasonable price. I see him as the one to be moved if at all.
  7. Scandella's value is low at this time, to the bolded, we have until next deadline to move him, with a potentially better team around him next season, why would not trading him now, at a low value point, be worth more than a year from now, where his value most likely would raise? There is a long game to be played here, I know you know this. Beyond the "satisfy me now" scenario's.
  8. ROR as Frodo would not work. Frodo resisted the ring. ROR's contract is proof the ring over came him.
  9. So, do I commit to watching the team again this season? That is a question I've pondered the past week. Quick backdrop, I haven't seen more than a game or 2 a season since the Super Bowl loss of 94. I cursed this team, and it's inability to finish (there's a paradox across sports venues in Buffalo for ya'll). I don't know. I was tempted with Flutie, since then, nothing. But, this seems different. Yes, they have some of the same old issues, yes Brady is still playing, but something is different. I like this kid at QB. He shows heart. He shows desire. Yes there will still be a hill to climb, but...…..(my wife is a rabid fan, literally, she froth's at the mouth) I feel as though this coming season is the one. Don't know why, I just do. So, I will immerse myself yet again, in to the abyss.
  10. Frodo is an elite superstar. Bottom 6 forward??????? Frodo took on the moniker of battling mentally with the ring, Frodo carried the ring nearly 90% of the time, Frodo stepped forward WHILE the group around him squabbled and dedicated his very life to carrying the ring to Mt. Doom and throwing it in to the lava. In short, Frodo came, Frodo saw, Frodo conquered. ROR couldn't hold Frodo's jock strap. In the interest of full disclosure, it did take Frodo 3 seasons. Just sayin...……..;}
  11. To the bolded, And I'm sure they are. But both clubs have their own warts as well. I do agree with you, the Eastern Conference has become a powerhouse. Nothing short of 2 to 4 stacked teams.
  12. Thought we should have picked up Vanek last season. This season to. If for nothing else to put Vanek and Pominville on Reinhart's wings. With they way Reinhart's vision is, all they'd have to do is fall to the front of the net and...……...He Scores!!!! lol
  13. Greg McKegg (with an arm for a leg and a leg for an arm) may be had, are we interested?
  14. Elliot Friedman on the Winnipeg Jets...... Winnipeg deflected requests for Adam Lowry and Jack Roslovic in its search for improvement. Nick Kypreos reported last Saturday the asks may spread to Sami Niku just returned to the AHL Manitoba. But one player the jets will move - providing it makes sense for him and the team - is Nic Pelan. Limited to 13 games. It is time for a fresh start. Looked at some video's of this kid. Any interest?
  15. Awesome, didn't know this thread existed. I have questions ?
  16. Yes, I agree, Olofsson has earned a look in the NHL. So has O'Regan. The problem here is 3 fold honestly. 1. 2 soft players. In soft I mean not known for their physical game, something the Sabres sorely need imo. 2. Emptying the Rochester cupboard could be problematic from an organizational standpoint, hard to say really, this one is just a guess at this time, but maybe a part of what Botterill is thinking. 3. Roster slots available at the Sabres level. Maybe Botts is going to move 3 pieces or so at the deadline, highly doubt it though, but I could be wrong. But I do see him moving 1 piece, maybe. And perhaps that is when we'll see Olofsson. One thing for sure from this fan however. I would like to see him for a looksy this season.
  17. One of the least touted stories of the Sabres this season is the emergence of Larsson as a solid 4th line center. The kid is just tenacious.
  18. The future is hardly uknown. Some wing talent is coming in the form of Olofsson and Smith, albeit it may be line 2/3 talent. O'Regan looks like a viable 3/4 center. All of these players are skill, not a great deal of size or grit there. So not only do we know what we do have almost ready, we've also just identified what we lack. So there, no excuses, but also, no unknown future.
  19. Greg Wyshynski ✔ @wyshynski Interesting report here from Frank, who as usually knows more than he's letting on. If FLA trades Huberdeau and his $5.9M AAV, I think they do it knowing that the SB/AP two-fer is a done deal. They're going to add north of $16M on just those two players. Gotta send some $ out. TSN Hockey ✔ @TSNHockey TRADE CHIP? Panthers F Jonathan Huberdeau joins the TSN Hockey Trade Bait list as rumours continue to swirl about Florida's burning desire to land both Sergei Bobrovsky and Artemi Panarin in a package deal, @frank_seravalli writes. #TradeCentre https://www.tsn.ca/panthers-huberdeau-joins-tsn-trade-bait-board-1.1255876 …
  20. I'm out! Sabres just made it personal. Hope they win, have fun all.
  21. I DID NOT, I REPEAT, I DID NOT VOTE FOR TRUMP, But I'm calling him a *****..ing liar straight *****....ing out. Unless you've been on the border, you need to stfu. Sorry, but you have no clue.
  22. I disagree with Val. I don't care personally what he went through. He didn't personally lose the life of a loved one. I have 2 nephews on the southern border, I myself did time their as support for border patrol back in the late 80's. He is not just being disingenuous, he's lying. And that's a BIG problem for me. DON'T USE RACE TO PROMOTE FURTHER CITIZENS DEATHS AND FAMILY LOSES!!!!!!! That's all I'll say on it.
  23. I don't know man, I'm seeing failed effort. Are they being coached in to these "blind passes"? Look what Eichel just did, just now. You tell me, am I wrong for seeing these things?
  24. Man, I am FAST becoming a GET RID OF HOUSLEY fan. This team SHOULD NOT be this bad at playing HOCKEY!!!!!
