Maybe he to get us into and competitive in the playoffs, PLUS put his bright young successor on his staff to finish the job if/when he gets stale. Then he can go up to an executive level job after that and simply make sure no more stupid stuff happens ever again.
I just know he's good at getting a roster to make the playoffs. We'll see if it goes beyond that.

If any Amerks "earn spots" this offseason, Kevyn Adams failed miserably.
Maybe. But Kulich is close. I do share your ciew though. We need vets, not more youth. Correct me if I'm incorrect in assessing your view LG, and my apologies if I am incorrect.

Hate it, have disdain for it, feel it's not good enough........I don't care. At 53, heading for 54 yrs old, I'm all in on a man I both watched as a player (skated with at sabresland in wheatfield as a 10 to 12 yr old kid as my mom dated an....acquaintance of the players. I actually skated at 5 yrs old with the connection, and yes, it was awesome), as well as cheered with glee as our teams coach.
Lindy was, is and will be the coach for what needs done here in accountability. I have 0 doubts we are playoff bound next year. My only hesitation left is my confidence in Adams.
You made the right coaching selection Kyven, you brought in an individual strong on accountability. Now, do you have it within you to finish the job? To bring in the roster components needed to put us as a cup contention team? The task is not complete Kyven, the ball is still in your court......
GET........IT........DONE!!!!!
I feel, I feel a youthful energy in me today after hearing Lindy is back. Get it done boys, get it done!!!!

Why?
Different coaching philosophy styles for sure. Lindy is a solid veteran coach, to deny that is ridiculous. But I hear you, and many others, that heavily question if he's "the right coach" to go on a cup run. I have faith in Lindy, his style is indeed accountability. Imho.

“When you think of the Buffalo Sabres, you know, such a huge part of that is Lindy Ruff. You know, obviously we knew he was available at the end of the season and then when we moved on from Donnie that was one of the first calls I made. We know what he brings to this organization and we’re confident he’s the man to lead this team back to the playoffs.” -Kevyn, probably.
He's not wrong either. Lindy gives me full faith in that. It's up to Adams to get us the assets to fill in the blanks to get us a cup.
I'm very elated Lindy is back.

Alternate scenario: Team finishes on a tear in 22-23 and falls one short point of being in the playoffs. All the talking heads and fans expect another step forward in 23-24. Seeing the continued good fortunes of the team and the players getting more experience, Adams recommends to Pegula that Granato gets extended. After all, it appears that it is coming together. However, the good fortunes stop at the start of 23-24. By the 20 game mark, maybe Adams is seeing warnings signs? However, the situation was bright just a couple months ago. He is a deliberate guy. Measure twice, cut once.
Game 40 rolls around. Quinn hurt. Samuelsson hurt. Thompson hurt. Does he go to Pegula and say - never mind... fire Granato? Oof. That is a hard conversation. Maybe the convo was had? Maybe Terry wanted/needed to give him the season to straighten it out, since he just renegotiated his contract? Maybe the deal was that they would pivot to a better defensive team and then judge the results? Maybe Adams accepted a deal to change from Granato?
Maybe actual human beings are working through this, without the benefit of hindsight, and it isn't just straight negligence because the fanbase has been perpetually mad?
Life has more nuance than black and white interpretations.
I don't know SDS, I'm listening to what is being said from those within the organization. I'm not saying my feels are completely correct, but oof man, the being pushed and practice atmosphere comments, ya, I'm not thrilled about that.
You are of course correct, hindsight is 20/20. But man, 13 seasons now, players comments like these, where was the urgency from them on the ice? Because they to hold accountability in the outcome. The coach, coaching staff, if it wasn't good enough early on and the season was slipping in to yet another "let's play catch up" mode, which, as we all witnessed and knew, happening in real time, where was the guidance from that coach and coaching staff? Where were the adjustments before it came to that, yet again?
Like I said, it gets under my skin a bit given the full context of the organizations past seasonal patterns. Meh, it is reactionary of course, but I no likey the atmosphere portrayed by some of the comments is all.

I'm questioning heavily Adams decision to "see how it plays out" this season. Clearly change was needed behind the bench, as many of us here on Sabrespace were acutely aware of. Hell, even patient, smart-ass me started a thread to can Granato.
As more and more comments from people within the organization are made publicly, such as Adams "not good enough" and some of the players "we need to be pushed" or "practise was a joke", one thing is becoming abundantly clear, the commitment to winning was not given serious consideration, imho.
We are through the looking glass here people. For myself, I am actually a bit pissed these issues are coming to light. My love for the Sabres, like so many, is life long. To hear these sentiments spoken from inside, ya, I'm f'n pissed it was allowed to fester like this.

Is a cig all you got working at the moment?
Ya, outside of my 2mg a day of my blood pressure meds (I'm anti-pharma to a point, but also realize my weight put me on these), I don't dabble. A beer or bourbon every great once in awhile. Truth be told Aud, I keep myself busy. Hell, I'm still climbing machinery at work with fairly nimble agility still. But the weight, food is 1 of my 2 weak spots, love me some good, rich food.

53 yrs old, still a smoker (i know, no more excuses. As i sit here typing this smoking a cig), I currently weigh 233lbs, I was down to 226lbs in early Jan. (FU La Nova, you tried to take me out), it's all waste and tits as my toothpick legs literally are screaming at me to stop adding size to the roster.
I weighed 196lbs in 2011, No playoff weight loss in 13 weight loss seasons. My spare tire looks like I'm a 30 pack of heavy lager a weekend, yet I i may have a beet or bourbon once every 2 months. This is it, I'm committing to long term change. So the Sabres better get their ***** together or I'll be kicking their *****, in 2 to 3 years.

Sounds like Kevyn's GM balls dropped today. Good to see, but now he has to walk the walk. Will he? Or will he continue to bury his head in the sand when things go sideways?
That depends..........
No, I mean literally, if he's not wearing depends and his GM balls dropped, things could get really messy.

Great, so our GM has Dissociative identity disorder. He/You should feel trauma, after that train wreck of a season.

Ok, which one of you is Adams Super Secret Sabrespace Squril account? Fess up, because he's parroting what's been said in this arena for years now.
So, Fess up Kyven, which acct is you? We have......"suggestions"....

Is he here yet?

I'm not sold on Ruff as the answer, but we need a coach that wears wadders for boots. These players need more than a swift kick in the keester, they need a daily enema at practice.

There is only 1 sure fire way to credibly substantiate LG's stats, dudacek's eyes, Thorny's gut feeling and GA's skepticism circa 1950's.
Poll the players themselves.

Come on SDS, a puke emoji for a banner?
The teams last 13 seasons? Ya, it's all subjective on the futures view, but a puke emoji for support of that with which we are familiar and had a decent run in the tenure they were here? Lol, not a fan of the choice, or not a fan of a fan who's so elated at the choice a puke emoji was worthy?
Ya, I'm riding it a bit. I found it funny given the teams journey since his exit is all.
