    Maybe on paper, but as it's been stated many, many times....they play small.  The only exception is maybe Benson (playing bigger than his punching weight) and maybe Clifton (from time to time)....and Dahlin sometimes as well.

    So, coaching can impact. Young players can still change. Skinner is probably the only old dog that’s unreachable

    I’m still not seeing players on this roster that will survive a knock down drag out playoff series against anyone. They will get beaten physically and emotionally.  A lot of waify kids on this team.  They need men who impose their will not kids who want to dangle.

    We’re actually a pretty big team. The emotional part is where coaching comes in to change

    I still think we are somewhat overselling the impact a coach has imo. Whether or not one human can come in and wave a magic wand and boom! power play is fixed and pow! slow starts are gone and schwing! no one gets hurt now…

    a lot of the determination for how much success the new coach has in these areas will ultimately come down to how much roster flexibility and depth the GM gives him to work with

    I don’t think it’s a matter of one coaching change necessarily bridges the gap to playoffs. It COULD, but the point is we can certainly ill-afford to take that chance, which is why I’m glad Adams seemed to strike a tone of expectation on his end, as well

    Leadership matters. Case study: Yeo->Berube

  4. Florida has half our castoffs. They’re doing fine

    the talent is fine now that there’s a goalie. The coaching is abysmal. Power play has all the talent in the world yet lost us the season all on its own

    the real question is who does Matty Ellis have hostage?

    The fact that we don’t have an nhl backup that anyone has faith in to spell UPL down the stretch falls on KAs bumbling of the position the last few seasons. Thats not in dispute.

    Being too hard on him. KA got two young guys and two veterans last few seasons. How it’s shaping up is his only ‘fault’ being that the veterans couldn’t hold the fort long enough for the young guys to step up as they have or are still in the process of doing. He couldn’t go get someone on a big contract because they would’ve blocked out what we’re seeing today. His vet backups keep getting injured.  Plus ontop of our defense being relatively deep, he added another blue chip piece to the mix.

    Just a lot of bad luck at the end of the day. KA to blame if both UPL and Levi busted, but that’s not what we’re seeing and the goalies aren’t even 25yo yet to fairly begin to judge them.

    We could be in Torontos goalie situation..
