I hate the draft lottery...
Heaven forbid a big city like Chicago go through a rebuild.
They need ticket sales and to be in playoff contention every year, and the NHL wants to make money.
This is as bad as the Crosby win for Pittsburgh.

A lot of moves but we need upgrades...

Like Iv'e stated earlier, I think the Sabres plan for this year was UPL and Comrie in Buffalo, with Levi in Roch. When Levi played well after UPL and Comrie struggled things changed.
UPL probably feels he could be a starter if given a chance.
Comrie only has one year left on deal, so if you trade UPL who becomes your backup next year?
If you decide to move on from both Comrie and UPL whomever you get this year is here probably for two years.
Goaltending and getting two more physical style d-man are themes important decisions this offseason.
The offense will take care of itself as there is enough talent and or prospects.

Some simple questions for KA?
Do you want Girgs back, or do you sign a Miles Wood or Nick Ritchie.
Who is your 4th line center who can win you face-offs, good on PK and play physical? Luke Glendening, Colton Sissons, or Noel Acciari.
Better d options? Clifton, Murphy, Graves, Schenn, Gudas, Soucey, or Mikkola.

Nashville, Vancouver, San Jose, Arizona, and St. Louis are all teams that could want a scoring winger for one year. These teams could then flip him at the trade deadline and recoup picks. If he is on a young team without much talent, he could be in their top six and PP. This would help his trade capital.

If we pick between 10-13, my three options would be
Barlow
Wood
Danielson

So Dahlin I believe will sign for 8 years at $9.5 million this summer. That will take him to age 32.
I think KA should sign Power to a 3 year $6 million extension this summer. Then give Power the 8 year $9-11 million after that. That would take Power to year 2034-35 when he will be 33 years old.
This is better for the organization long term because you don't have a 30 year old UFA looking for another 6-8 contract that takes them until they are 36-38 years old.

Okposo isn't retiring prior to hitting his 1000th game
I doubt KA won't sign him, he's the captain of the team and beloved by the entire roster. Perhaps he only plays 25 games and retires akin to Perrault but I'd suspect he'll be here next year.
This is my thought process as well. Bring him back to be the vet presence for one more year on a $2 million dollar contract. Let him play about 30-45 games barring injuries to other forwards, and let him get his 1,000 NHL game.

Can anyone confirm is this is true?
The tie breaker is regulation wins. Buffalo finished with 30. NYI and Florida had 36 each and Pittsburg had 31.

"Bryson battling with his man in front"? You can't actually think he did a good job there Razor
Stillman would have had his guy on the ice!!
Need two more defenseman this off season that know how to clear the net and pK.

Bryson on the ice for that one....sigh, why is he playing?!?!
DG says its most important game of the year and then you dress a guy who is a -24 on the year and can't play against the bigger forwards on NJ. Dumb move DG!!

Sorry Okposo needs to go. How do you get to the line and not extend the puck into the zone. Instead he pulls it bags and delays getting the puck into the zone. Not a smart move.
Great goal by Skinner, and pass by Mitts.

Man Levi has some odd superstitions

Quinn not aware of Panarin behind him. I feel the system is so transition minded that certain players cheat in the defensive zone. Sometimes it helps to lead to offensive rushes, and other times it leads to players being out of position.
Have to take care of your own end before you worry about going on the offense!!

Jost key stick on stick on Rangers D to allow Quinn to make the pass to JJ
