Same plan but with some minor upgrades. The D in front of the goalies should be better with Power and the new Russian. Comrie is an upgrade on Tokarski. Subban vs Dell is a wash as both stink. At least Comrie has upside potential.

So is KA done?

Absolutely. He’ll be a good pair with Bryson and allow Bryson to be more active offensively.

Comrie 40, Anderson 25-30, UPL/Subban the balance.

So is KA done? We are at the cap floor and he has done the bare minimum but got two decent players to fill his roster holes in the process. Anything else? I’m still hoping for Rutta or another good D.

Assuming it’s true, the best part of this signing is he is one of the few available goalies with upside. However is he good enough to play 50 games. Husso with a similar resume did it last year so it’s definitely possible.

According to Elliotte Freidman Campbell to Edm Kuemper to Wash Stl interested in Greiss Sea interested in Jones WGR reporting Samsonov to Tor. If all this happens, not much left for KA to pick from.

Sad but true.

Giving Kuemper or Campbell money is meaningless to whether or not Tage gets big $. We can afford both. However signing 30+ year old goalies to long-term deals is foolish on it’s own merits. However not properly addressing goaltending at all on a young and developing team is also foolish. KA’s problem is Cozens Tage and Samuelsson coming due after this season and then Mitts, Dahlin, Joki, Power and Krebs due the following year.

St Louis just gave Thomas 8 x 8. If Tage has another huge year how kuch is his new deal going to be?

No one is saying break the bank. I think everyone just wants him to make intelligent moves, fill the lineup holes, but also not be afraid to get something done like Ott and Det have. They, like us, wanted to improve their goaltending despite both teams having ok netminders already. However their GM’s managed to get Husso and Talbot while we re-signed Anderson and Subban and struck out on Murray. Det is also adding Copp, while Ott has added DeBrincat and looks like Giroux. We need a starting goalie and at least one veteran RHD. He needs to get those done in the next few days.
