Well we are not losing!

Sabres 4-2 tonight. I’m being hopeful the Isles will run out if gas.

Well this will be interesting.

The lack of defense play seems systemic to the entire organization from the parent club on down.

Monday will be 14,000 with 8000 MTL fans.

What happened last year? We scored a lot of goals and gave up even more. Did not make the playoffs. 4 games in we don't score a lot of goals and still get scored on a lot. Unless this team suddenly finds a serious defensive game and get decent goaltending, we go nowhere again. What we can't do is start out like 3-6-1 and then have to run the table the last part of the season when we finally start playing good.

You forgot "defensive gaffes".

Team has 18 year olds on it with a ton of guys under 21. Expecting a team that young to be a playoff contender might be a bit unrealistic. Since we have gone full on youth, it takes a while to season them and learn the game at this level. And we have 3-5 more young prospects to add the next few years. It could be years of this.

And we seem to have better prospects on paper. But in actuality they play sound hockey.

Not only has nothing improved, it actually looks worse. Now we have to hope for a 3-4 win streak just to get us back on track. Meanwhile the other “young” teams in our division are having the start I hoped for and look good doing it.

They killed off a passionate fanbase. That’s sad. Obviously people are not buying into the hype. They sense “frauds” yet again. It will take some time and getting to the playoffs to fill that barn again.

Is it early? Yes. But the early version of the Sabres are a bad hockey team. Real bad. …and the reality of a bad start becoming a disastrous start is becoming closer to reality. Especially with the Islanders next. A hole is being dug already. The questions are going to get louder in lieu of Donnie not having this team ready and Adams decision to roll it back.

Boy oh boy.

We took the foot off the gas the last two periods. Can’t keep doing that. But a win is a win.
