Maybe, but Granato has a large body of work that has shown success and knows hockey quite well. I’ve been watching his coaching videos. Very impressive.

Interestingly his “system” is predicated on puck possession that leads to more time attacking. I think it’s a breath of fresh air that showed clear dividends with a trash roster.

He basically stated you can’t win until you are developed … with the amount of players he coached that are now top NHL players there is something to that

Maybe. But that is your opinion and none of us are professional scouts. Certainly your scouting staff is number one, but a lot to consider when the top minds in the league are making their opinions.

I believe number one must be the consensus best player in the draft board. That is what winning the lottery is for. As you drift further from number one then those things come into play.

The return on Jack and Sam SHOULD BE their replacements in the pipeline. At number one you must take the BPA.

The fact that he understands Dahlin is not a stay at home defensemen at least gives him a leg up on RK and puts him in the "sane" column. Tage and Casey played their best hockey under him.

Reinhart and Eichel were supposed to be the foundation of a Cup contender. Instead they are both being traded after 5 seasons. What an epic failure of a franchise.

We need a Zegras, Dach, Byfield type prospect plus a number one to even start negotiations imo. I have no doubt a young franchise center will eventually invoke a bidding war. Especially this time of year when other times are high on emotions and desperate for more scoring. KA can take his time.

Being a Sabresfan I just enjoy good playoff hockey and pull for whomever…we will probably never see what MTL is experiencing again. At least not anytime soon.

The top 4 D of MTL alongside an elite goalie with responsible, fast, hardworking forwards, makes me hope the Sabres grab Powers all the more and some similar forwards like Suzuki, Gallagher and Danault.

Good for MTL. They play a great team game.
