  1. The thing is, that I 1) Did not believe a word Trump said, about anything And also 2) Felt the need to wait and see what happens, because these are batshit crazy times right now. Trump would steal the office if he could find a way. I wasn’t 100% sure that he wouldn’t find a way. Edit: not confronting you here, just explaining how I felt/feel.
  2. Yeah, I know it was all made up. However, there was the possibility that an injustice of some kind would occur or that some actual evidence of fraud would be brought forward, or something crazy like a coup or something, improbable as that might have been. Basically, it’s not over until it’s actually over.
  3. Seems like they are not having one. I don’t mind the ones that are just a logo so much. I hate the company name in big lettering on some. That Ford logo looks terrible on a helmet.
  4. This is a weak argument. Could say this about any player. Jack, Sam, ROR, Risto....the fact that the team has been bad, does not mean he is not a useful player. But you are probably right though if you phrase it like this. I also doubt that the Sabres miss him badly. They are likely to miss him a little bit though. It weakens a bottom 6 which is already not that strong.
  5. Maybe someone told him something, but it wasn’t 100% certain, and he didn’t want to be spreading false info around about something sensitive. Something about free speech having consequences or something.
  6. But the top 6 looks saahweet! EDIT: honestly though, it’s going to depend on the development of the young guys. If a couple of Thompson, Routsalainen, Mitts, Cozens (and even Lazar could have some upside) can do well in a limited, bottom 6 scoring line role, that will help tremendously.
  7. Ok, sure, but there is a big difference between telling a bunch of people that there is election fraud, even though you have no proof of it, and saying that we will need to see how the allegations of fraud and lawsuits play out before we know what will happen with the election.
  8. Who are you talking about? Trump or the people on this forum? It’s like there is no distinction with you right now. Please try to make one. There is a process to certify elections. I couldn’t be completely sure what would happen until all the challenge lawsuits were complete and the results were certified. Part of that is because I know that Trump would pull any unethical stunt he could possibly get away with to remain in office. It doesn’t mean that I liked it, but that was the reality of the situation.
  9. I agree with most of what you wrote, and commend you for expressing yourself better than I can. However, this part I don’t agree with. I don’t believe that troubles stem from people not being politically engaged enough. People are more politically engaged than ever before. We might actually be better off if people were less politically engaged, as strange as that sounds. You don’t think pure escapist entertainment or celebrities existed 50 years ago, or exist in other countries today? I believe that our troubles stem from a lack of social intelligence. We don’t understand each other and we don’t want to try. We just want to be in our own little echo chambers where we only interact with and hear things from people who we agree with. Why the heck would we want to hear from someone who thinks differently than us?! Or someone who is from somewhere else?! Or someone with a different skin color?! Or someone who has a different idea of what America should be?! Its enabled by social media and media that we can tailor to hear only exactly what we want to. At least that’s my view.
  10. I have to echo @freester here. Risto is actually good on the PP, at the point. It’s what he is best at. He should be on the 2nd PP unit. Montour I don’t think is even good in the offensive zone. Miller is ok, though I haven’t seen him on the PP much.
  11. Coachable team player.
  12. And sometimes they make you really miss the guy who is out.
  13. YES! Just kidding. Do you think he should get a few NHL games to see?
  14. Impact player? Not positive what that is, but probably not. I think he will probably fine in a limited role though, similar to what Kirby Dach did last season. We’ll know more after seeing him in a few games.
  15. I do complement Congress for getting back to work this evening and finishing this thing, instead of doing it tomorrow or something. It sends a message if nothing else. My immediate question going forward is, will Trump be removed from office in the next couple days? I think they could, and actually have bi-partisan support. On the one hand, it just gives him one more perceived injustice against him to rail and riot about. On the other hand, he is a traitorous megalomaniacal psychopath who is wholly unfit for office.
  16. So, Burke said the players who are nhl ready from the tournament are, in order Byram, Lundell, Hienola, Podkolzin. That’s it. Then Zegras and Cozens were next. He didn’t really go into details.
  17. Those poor souls. Imaging working somewhere 7 years, with that amount of success.
  18. Listen. At this point, I don’t understand how anyone could support that living dumpster. They are misguided at best and truly frightening at worst. However...... I don’t know the situation of what happened to that woman, but she made a decision to be there, doing whatever she was doing, and whoever pulled the trigger made a decision too. Those parties are the ones who are personally responsible. I think you are going a bit heavy on this rhetoric that anyone who ever said anything positive about Trump, or who wanted to wait and see if any election fraud was actually uncovered, now has blood on their hands and bare personal responsibility for a death today. Just think about it. I’m not going to say another word on the topic.
  19. Ok. Maybe it was. If you want to call it a coup attempt, then it was a directionless, planless, hopelessly incompetent coup attempt. I would call it a riot incited by Trump.
  20. Ok. I’m convinced!
  21. Seems like there was never any real discussion between him and the Sabres. I think he was just over it. Didn’t someone here say that Larsson hated his extremely heavy defensive useage? I don’t remember who. Maybe he didn’t want to come back for another go round of that.
  22. I wonder what legislators (including GOPs who supported/enabled Trump) who had to go hide under desks today are thinking about as they go home this evening.
  23. I don’t think it was the Sabres choice. It seemed like Larson wanted out. Maybe they don’t want to use a line as much defensively as they did last season. That was extreme. There isn’t anything wrong with a line that can still be pretty good defensively, and produce a little more offense too. I really don’t think we will see that much of Sheahan. I have a hard time projecting that when he doesn’t even have a contract. I don’t know. Ralph switched around lines quite a bit last season. At least 2 of them.
  24. I disagree and also agree. Everyone and everything in the universe is doomed, it’s just a question of when, not if. Also, today was step in the wrong direction for this country. However, I don’t feel that this country is doomed in the near future. It can get better.
  25. He scored 12, non-PP, goals last season, 4th on the team. Would have been 5th if Olofsson stayed healthy. He did this while getting the most difficult, defensively tilted usage in the entire league. He was good. Lazar/Reider/whoever is very unlikely to be an upgrade.
